  1. I just found out I was pregnant a few days ago. I am so excited!!! I had my first child, a boy 4 1/2 years ago and it had taken me about 8 years to get pregnant. That was before the lap-band. I have had the band a little over a year now and have lost 108 pounds so this time, I was only off of my birth control for 2 months and it has happened already! I am so thankful. I am now worried about how much weight I am going to gain though. I am hoping to only gain 10-20 throught the pregnancy and then hopefully lose most of it quickly. With my pre band pregnancy I gained 55 pounds and that was in the last 4 months. I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was 5 1/2 months since my periods were irregular and I had pretty much given up on ever having a baby, now I am starting on my 2nd! 2. I talked to my fill lady on Monday and she called the Dr. and they put me on 1000mg Augmentin. Today is Day 3 1/2 of the Augmentin and it seems to be doing much better already. I have been washing it and making sure it is still open in case of drainage but there is only a tiny amount of clear coming out now. I talked to fill lady again on Wednesday and told her about my progress and she said wonderful! Yay! I am scheduled for a fill on Sept 12 so hopefully all goes as planned. Jane - yours is looking much better and I am so happy for you! Just hang in there and keep praying! It will get better and everything will be alright.
  3. I had a stitch come out early on and had a sore on my port incision. I seemed to heal up alright after lots of effort to keep it dry. A week and a half ago when I went to get a fill it busted open again and started draining, a lot. She said it wasn't anything to worry about, that the incision just didn't heal from the inside out like it is supposed to. After a week, it seemed to heal up and it quit draining for about a day and a half, then on Friday it started draining again a lot and it was really sore. The soreness eased some after it started draining but I am really worried about infection. I am going to call the fill lady tomorrow and see what she thinks. She also put me on antibiotics but I take the last of them today and it is still draining. Has anyone had any experience like this? I am so worried.

    Any bingers out there?

I am a binger too but I am too scared to now. I know that it will hurt horribly and I will throw up so that has kept me from binging. I only had surgery 5 days ago but there have been a couple time I have wanted something but I didn't do it because of the fear of pain. I hope that fear stays with me!

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

I am back from Mexico and everything went great! Dr. Rumbaut and his staff are wonderful!! They had everything arranged so that we didn't have to do much except go where they wanted us at certain times. The surgery went great and my mom, sister, and I are all feeling very much better today. The worst was getting back home yesterday. We had to walk so much through the airports and hurry to catch our 2nd flight in Dallas so we were hurting but after a good nights sleep in our own beds we all feel great! I do have to say that the pain was horrible when I woke up in the recovery room. My stomach and shoulders hurt so bad. They got me some pain medicine and I was in and out of sleep for an hour or 2 and then they took me to my room when I finally woke up for good. It hasn't been too bad, mostly the getting up and down pain. I have had really bad displaced pain in my shoulder. The doctor said that was to be expected though and it is much better today. As you can see by my ticker I am down 14 pounds!!! I lost 5 of that during my 5 day pre-op diet and the rest since surgery on Tuesday!

reconciler - I am having surgery with Dr. Rumbaut and my BMI is 43 and I have to do a 5 day diet before surgery. They said the amount of days of the diet are based on your BMI. I have to do 3 days of what they call full liquids and then 2 days of clear liquids, basically broth, crystal light, and water, plus protien shakes. I guess I would just watch it and not gain too much, I think he just wants your liver to not be bloated and the diet helps make it smaller right before surgery. I will let you know how things go, my surgery is the 10th. I won't be back home until the 13th so I probably won't get to post until then.

Congratulations Lynette!!! that is awesome! I hope all of us do so well. Mine is coming up a week from tomorrow and I seem to keep getting more nervous day by day. It is good to hear from you and know all went so well. Nicole - Yes, I am very lucky to have my sister and mother doing this with me. We have all struggled with our weight for many many years and we decided that we are all at a place in our lives where we can do it and it will make it that much better to do it together so we have each other for support. The rest of the family has been very supportive of us too. I am so thankful for that! Don't worry that you don't have a bandster in the family, our Lucky 7's family is huge!!! : )

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Hello everyone! I have enjoyed reading some of your posts but since I just found this board I have been reading an hour or so and I am only through page 10 or so! I wish I had looked for it sooner. Good luck to those of you getting banded in July! I can't wait! My surgery date is July 10. I am a self pay and am going to Mexico to be banded by Dr. Rumbaut. Anyone else? My mother and my older sister are also going to be banded that day! We are all so excited. There are of course other feeling like doubt and anxiety but most of all excited. I, like others, am worried about this working since I have tried so many things already and nothing has worked before but reading the successes of others has really been inspirational for me. I am determined to work with my band and get to a healthy weight. I do have the last supper syndrome, I have been eating everything I shouldn't once I have the band. I start my 5 day liquid diet July 5. I am not looking forward to it but I am going to do it! I am happy to be a Lucky 7! Rebecca 278/278/150
