  6. I guess I'm thinking the wipes would be better than a bottle of bleach in your purse. ~Mandy
  7. hi guys, I started my new job today. I love it there. I work with 6,7 and 8th grade. I am in the lunch room, simply keeping it at a controlled chaos. It's not at nutz as it sounds. I dismiss the kids in small groups to toss their trash, and line up to go to the next class. Other than that I keep order, keep them seated, and keep them in their assigned areas. Simple, easy and the pay is good. It also gets me into the district so I can become a teacher aide next year. I'm off to a board meeting for our subdivision. Tonight we hand in the petition papers that I have worked on the last few days. Tomorrow is no school, so we have a vets appointment, and Abi is seeing the doc. She has a nasty cough. No fever but the cough is getting worse, and nothing has helped. I'm off, be back later. ~Mandy
  8. Most of us are not from NJ at all. I am from Chicago. We all just get along really well so here we are. ~Mandy
  9. I discovered the mushroom allergy first. It's really bad, I go into respritory failure. I have had multiple surgeries without problems, I just make sure the facility is aware of my allergy. ~Mandy
  10. You know they make wipes just for this purpose? And there is much less rick of stuff in your bag getting ruined. ~Mandy
  11. paramedics usually don't check the ankles. But they also don't do NG tubing. I have a severe mushroom allergy and some anestetics (sp?) have the same fungus in them so I have been wearing that on an id for years. I was told the same thing, paramedics will not see an ankle id, but they also don't do anestetic. ~Mandy
  12. For the $25 I spent on my bracelet I find that much value in the peace of mind it provides. ~Mandy
  13. This weekend is going to be pretty calm. We have had a few crazy weeks and we all need a break. I have to collect 50 more signatures for a petition that our community is working on (mosquito abatement, fun huh?). I'm going to roast a chicken tonight for dinner, then make chicken and dumplings tomorrow. I will eat the chicken and sauce and I add peas, my family makes the dumplings disappear pretty quickly. I have avioded the hallowen candy pretty well. I did eat 2 boxes of milk duds, but they had like 3 in each box, so really still ok there. My weakness is the damn egg nog that I bought, is there anything better than egg nog? I also had a bottle of witches brew wine last week, it took me a whole week but I managed to drink the entire bottle. It was a nice dark smoky spicy wine. It was already mulled. I will be getting a few bottle of that to put up, it's seasonal. It was cheap and really good. I'm not a big drinker, but I like a nice sweet or spicy wine on occasion. I didn't make my apples yet, maybe today? I have everything out and ready to go, just no time. I'll be back later, if my feet don't freeze off from all the petition walking. ~Mandy
  14. Kat, I signed up the the email updates, that's how I get the info so early. They have had ads posted for almost 2 weeks already. ~Mandy

  17. Last year we had 4 trick or treaters, this year we had about 40. The weather was great, and kids were everywhere. Tonight we carved pumpkins, they are all Nightmare before Christmas. Mine is on the far right. ~Mandy
  18. I'm making southern candy apples (the red ones) tonight. I can't wait. I have a friend that just came back from Texas and he bought me 3 kits. (36 apples) I plan on making a batch tonight, one for Christmas and another for New Years with sparkly sugar for the center piece on the table. I can't believe that they don't eat that kind of apple here. If you order a candy apple, you get a caramel apple. (yuck!) Today is the big class party. The teacher called and ask if I would mind if the kids assembled the worms and dirt graveyard. The mom that was supposed to make a craft with the kids flaked out. So now they are going to make an edible craft. I'm taking my camera so we can get some good shots of the kids making them. Tonight we make our grand carved pumpkins. It's a big event in my house, we spend several hours carving, then lighting our masterpieces. I have cider to heat and I also found pumpkin egg nog already. I bought a half gallon of Nog, I had a glass for dessert last night, it was soooooo good. I will use it in my iced coffee this week and I will also add some to my vanilla Protein shake LOL! I'm off, I have no candy in the house. I used it all to make goodie bags for Abi's class. If I had extra I would have eaten it so I'm going to get it now. ~Mandy
  19. I got the job!!!!! I am so excited, now I have to wait for a call from the school district office to fill out paper work. Looks like I start next monday!! ~Mandy
  20. Hi all, we had a crazy weekend, I'm glad it's over. I made 25 treat bags this morning for Abi's class. Tonight I'm making a worms and dirt graveyard. Her party is tomorrow and the whole school does a parade around the block so the moms have time to set up for the parties. It's cold here, but I'm not complaining as we normally have ice by now and today the low was 42, so it's warmer than normal. We will actually get to wear costumes without big heavy coats woohoo!! I bought a beautiful roast for dinner tonight. Other than that it's pretty calm around here for the moment. Diane, I'm sure tomorrow will be fine, the band surgery is a simple procedure. Keep us updated on your progress. We are here to help and support you after surgery. I agree with Sherry, the EAS is good so is the Atkins chocolate. I like the sour apple or green apple nectar, it's good but a very strange color. ~Mandy
  21. I like TheGh0st myself. I think that says alot about you and how you feel. ~Mandy
