OK so I found out this morning that Paige did not receive my psych eval yet. So, called the psych office, requested they fax it again and this time, requested a copy faxed to me too. At least if Paige does not get it from them, she can get it from ME! ..................................while contemplating this, got a call from Paige, she received her copy and I have been submitted to insurance for pre-cert. WOOT WOOT! Now, the wait begins again. I hope it goes as quickly as yours sugarush!!! Hope all of your phase 2 testing is going well today. Let us hear from you when you feel like it!

You have a surgery date posted for 9/30--is that for reals? I can not even begin to say how anxious I am right now hoping Paige will call this morning!!!!!! Did you do anything in addition to the Active Health thing to qualify? I mean, did you have to turn in documented attempts for a number of months, etc?? I'm so nervous I won't get approved for some reason. I've done Active Health since the first of January.

OH! I'm jealous!!! Pretty sure they did not fax my psych over until late yesterday afternoon. That could be the reason I haven't heard anything yet! That sure was fast for you to get approval!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!

so, sugarush, are you going to opt for River Oaks instead of CMMC? I sure was glad to hear that it is an option. I had never even heard of CMMC before they told me that is probably where I would go.

They submitted my psych today too! we are right here together! Anxiously awaiting approval. Paige says we might know by the end of the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received mail from river oaks that said bcbs state employees plan was still accepted. It's just plain bcbs that won't pay there. I was under the impression that Dr. Cummins only does the sleeve surgery at cmmc because they have the daVinci survey system.

haven't begun the serious liquid only pre-op yet. I do a LOT of protein shakes and they really do keep me full. I just use the Body Fortress chocolate protein powder from Wal-Mart. but, have yet to do a day where the shakes are all I have all day long. Since I haven't gotten my approval yet, I'm still sort of coasting on foods. I do yogurt for breakfast, protein shake for lunch and dinner with my family-but I try to watch portion size. I don't know what I will do when I have to cut out everything before surgery!! I hope you feel better--try some pork skins--crunchy, all protein, no carbs. feels like cheating!!!

We have the same insurance--BCBS State employee. I work at MSU. Yes, I signed up in December with Active Health as soon as I saw the 2013 plan update flyer! I should have done the 2 year trial program they started in 2009 but chickened out. I am so ready to get started on my new beginning! Where are you from?

Oh yay for you! I am so anxious to get everything going. I have my initial appointment with Cindy Cruise on Thursday. I actually thought I was approved already but just found out that they have not submitted my paperwork yet. But, my surgery coordinator indicated that with my Active Health Management participation, it should be a given. Had my psych eval last week. I have a 2 hour drive so I hope that I can get as many appointments done in the same day as humanly possible. How long has the process taken for you? What insurance do you have-if you don't mind sharing.

My insurance just started covering WLS this year. As a state employee, of course, there was a list of hoops to jump through, or participate with Active Health Management for 6 months. So I jumped right in in January. The coaches at AHM assured me that going through them would make things easier. Funny, about the only thing I have not been worried about is getting approved! I wish it could be as simple for everyone. If you needed heart surgery, insurance would not make you wait 6 months, right?

Haven't met with nutritionist yet. I keep feeling like I'm doing everything out of order for some reason. But, just doing what the surgery coordinator says do.

I have completed 8 months with active health and am flying through approval. It makes the whole process easier. Stick with it and you'll be glad you did it this way!

I have attended the seminar and have had my psych eval done. Have my first visit with the nurse at Transformations in Flowood, MS next week. I go from being scared to death to excited and back to scared again. Anyone want to share how they got over the roller coaster of emotions?
