  1. I haven't posted in awhile. But since I hit a major milestone I thought it deserved a post. My surgery was nine months ago and I've lost 100 pounds!!!! Seeing before and after pics was so inspiring before surgery and it still is even today. I hope this helps someone who's on the fence about WLS. Take the plunge it's sooooooooooooooooo worth it!!!
  2. As of this past Thursday I've officially lost 100 pounds!!!! 100 freaking pounds in nine months!!!! It's simply unreal. I remember scrolling through this site and marveling at the amount of weight people lost in a such short amount of time. I never in a million years thought I'd be one of them. It's great to see how well everyone's doing. I can't wait to view the thread once we're a year out.
  3. Challenge Start Weight: 269.2 Monday, July 14th: 269.6 (up 0.4 pounds) Challenge Goal Weight: 250
  4. Hello, The funny thing is. Whenever. I think of get togethers I still think of them being centered around food. That being said maybe we can find a place that does tapas (small plates) and have a simple meet & greet there. Then we can branch out to other activities from there.

  6. I hadn't heard about the zinc. I also didn't know that Biotin could cause acne. That would explain my recent breakouts (I've never had skin problems before). Thanks for the tip. What dosage of the zinc do you take?
  7. Prayers up for your approval! I think bring natural vs relaxed helps with hair loss. You may want to start taking Biotin as well. My NUT (nutritionist) said that 10,000 mcg (pic attached) is the most that our bodies will absorb so that's what I take once a day. My hair is relaxed and has always shedded and like most people that do experience hair loss I has some 3 months post op. It wasn't too bad as in no one rise noticed. But there was definitely more hair left in my combs and brushes and it thinned a little. That lasted maybe a month and a half. The other thing I noticed is dandruff (I have to wash my hair more frequently) My scalp is way drier now and I suppose it's due to the fact that you just don't get as many fluids in post op The best thing you can do is what we're already supposed to be doing: drink your water, get your protein in, and take your vitamins.
  8. Congratulations on your approval!!! Everyone's doctor and nutritionist has different liquid diet requirements. Some don't require a liquid diet at all. Mine was ten days of protein shakes, water, sugar free Popsicles, and sugar free jello. The jello really helped when I wanted to chew something and actually feel something solid in my tummy. Please consult with your doctor before changing anything. There may be a specific reason for the diet you're on and although it's probably going to be one of the hardest things you've ever done the surgery is 100% worth it and you don't want to do anything to delay it. Good luck!
  9. I'm in! Thanks for taking over!!

  11. 272.4 (⬆️ 0.4) this week.
  12. I really liked GNC Lean Shakes before surgery but after surgery my lil sleeve couldn't tolerate them. I LOVE Premier Protein RTD (ready to drink). Chocolate is my favorite. It tastes like a frosty especially if you blend it with ice. Vanilla has a good flavor but has a gritty texture to it. I haven't found the strawberry one yet. I'm 8 months out and I've tried a lot of different shakes Premier is the only one I still drink.

  15. I too was a "super healthy fat person" much to the surprise of my doctors and surgeon and while I'm only eight months out I can definitely appreciate the improvements to my quality of life post op. There are a handful of people who've stuck out to me since I joined this site and you're one of them. I thoroughly enjoy your posts. Thanks for sharing your story.
