Vera, What a shitty feeling to go thru all of this & have a leak. I fouund out today I have one. I'm nervous to go into surgury again, but they told me they will give me a local & twilight???? Whatever that is & should be able to go home that day. I was told by my surgeon (Dr. George Fielding @ NYU) that his happens to .25-.50% of the people who get this done. He believes it's at the port. We'll see. I always got my fills in the Dr.s office. I lay down, they feel for the port, inject the saline & done. My big shot surgeon has a staff that does the fills. I wonder if one of them punctured it during 1 of my fills.

Shannon, I think you do have a leak. I was banded 3.18.05 lost 30, got 1cc,1cc,1cc & felt ZERO difference. 2 weeks ago the filled me to 4.7 cc & still felt like I never had surgury. No fullness, no restriction, no nothing. Saw my surgeon today. I have a leak at the port & am going in on Saturday for surgury. I'm expecting it to be covered by insurance, or the doctor. i'll keep you posted.

I was banded 3/18. Lost 30 pounds, but that was from my 2 weeks before surgury & my month after. Ya know drinks, mushy etc. Since then, I haven't been loosing weight. Got a 1cc fill, nothing, another 1cc fill nothing. then filled to 5cc's was too much,backed it down to 4.7 then nothing again. I didn't even feel I have the band put in. Turned out that I have a leak at the port. Going back in Sat for surgury. Has anyone out there gone thru this?

What is a PB?

I just had my 2nd fill (1cc) 6 weeks after surgury cause after the 1st fill (1cc), 18 days ago, I didn't feel any different. Meaning I felt like the old me again (scary) HA! I had an appetite & was wasn't feeling full/satiated, and ate pretty much what I wanted to eat except no steak or calamai, but I've had garlic knots, shrimp etc. (Some of the things I was told I can never eat again) I even started to think "Did I make a mistake? Should I of had the bypass surgery? I lost 14 pounds prior to surgery & lost 17 pounds since. (Feb 18, 2005) total of 31 I keep hearing " You need an adjustment" I want to feel like I felt 1-2 weeks after surgery where I just wasn't hungry & wasn't thinking about wanting to eat. What are your thoughts about what I said & what I'm thinking & feeling.

Hi everyone. This Friday it will be 2 weeks ago I had surgury. Doing fine except my concern is that I can drink my Water without sipping it, drink Soup ,& drink 2 Optifasts a day etc I'm not drinking the 64 ounces at once, but I don't feel any restriction. I'm paranoid I could be stretching my new pouch. How do I know I'm not?

Hi everyone. Today is 1 week since surgery. I feel fine except I'm still sore & a bit black & blue near my port incision. Has anyone experienced that? I've lost 20 lbs. Lost 6 lbs since surgury, 20lbs so far including the liquids I was on 2 weeks prior to surgury. I get my 1st fill 3/10/05.

Best of luck. I used Dr. George Fielding. He's from Melborne. He works in NYC 1 month, then 1 month back in Australia. I'm certain you'll do great. It's really NOT a biggie.
