  1. i have had pain on exertion and on certain stretching movements from the begining. i was banded on aug 29th of 07. finally, i am now being told that it is very likely scar tissue and have to do a pelvic cat scan to rule out anything else. i will have to have the port moved. the good news - i have finally started to lose weight. the bad news - pain is a weekly part of my life and now surgery may be also. despite all of this, i'm still happy that i did it
  2. lol -- i love it! did you mean to write eliptikill? or was it just a freudian slip?

  4. hey. i had surgery on the 29th of august. so i am probably being premature. i really expected to lose more on my two weeks of fluids. i feel somewhat failed. the P.A. said hunger indicates that the band is in place and now i am to progress to more solid foods. i had 2 cans of tuna today with feelings of fullness after meals but hunger again within 1-2hrs after meals. i am eligible for a fill in 4 weeks. wt loss to date is 3 lbs. i remain hopeful....
  5. i totally get what you are saying. i was just banded on 8/29. i find myself having to explain to everyone why i'm off from work, or in pain, or not going on dates ect. i am 33 and am also casually dating. i hate having to constantly explain myself and then having people have expectations of me. or getting lectured which is the worst
  6. i thik i need to join this group too. it's been two weeks i've lost nothing and despite some pain. i feel like i am always hungry
  7. hi luvelmo, i was banded by dr geiss too. he gave me a presciption for 20 vicodins i was taking two about three times a day with minimal relief. i don't have any left today. 3 other people were banded on the same day as me and none of them were in pain and i kept on ringing for injections. i felt like there was something wrong with me --or maybe i'm just taking too much. i really am in horrible pain though. i'll call on tuesday and hope they can see me
  8. i'm having incredible port pain too. i was banded on the 29th. the pain affects my breathing, bending, and sleeping. the fellow said to just take the vicodins when i was discharged. the meds make it bearable (i still felt the pressure and strain though). now, i'm out of pain meds and the extra strength tylenol is not cutting it. i don't remember pulling anything. it just has not stopped hurting since the day of surgery.
  9. hi, my name is danielle. i just recieved my surgical date which will be on aug 29th. i was wondering how was the pain s/p surgery and how long the downtime was. i am requesting 8 weeks but will probably get six. i am totally excited (it took so long to get here --all the clearances!) but, am scared as well thanks
