Well got my date today! Surgery will be Tuesday 11/19/13! So excited! Pretesting tomorrow : )

I have BCBS and have met all requirements. How long is it taking ppl to get approved? My Doc said 48-72 hours???? If he is like the Docs I work for he has no real idea!

Haven't seen you on here in awhile. Wanted to send a private message but of course I am to techno challenged. Thought I remember you telling me your surgery was 11-1. Hoping your doing good. Message me if you can. I have my last appt with Doc tomorrow and should start approval process. He said will only take 2-3 days to get approved. He promised me a date before 12/1. Have read numerous comments of people complaint that they cannot get their protein in. Has anyone tried the protein shots? I read about some that have 50 of protein for a little over 3 ounces. Are they bad???? I am presurgery and just trying to find a good protein.

Has anyone tried the high protein shots? There are many different brands and most have 40-50 of protein in about 3 ounces. Just wondering about them.

I'm Jen. Will be scheduled late November. 5'4" weight 228 this morning! My Doc is wonderful and gave an estimate of weight will be 125-140 if I listen to him. Even though I am heavy I am very active....I get up at 5:30 and don't stop until 10:30-11 at night. I'm a busy Nurse, Wife and Momma. So excited to get started!!! My goal weight is 135-140.

So I didn't lock in a date because I have one more appt 11/4 : ( but my surgeon told me he will get me in before DEC 1!!!!! So excited! They told me today to expect weight to be between 125-145 IF I listen to my Doc. Well I am a Nurse so the Dear Lord knows I am use to that!! Lol I'm on cloud 9!

I would like to hit 135. At first I did not have any set "goals" but a friend of mine suggested to set some. So 135-145 is my goal weight.....and by my 40th birthday which will be 7-12 weeks after surgery I would like to have 30-40 pounds gone. YIKES!!!! I did it!!! Just made it official!!! That's my goals : )

So what is everyone's goal weight or did Doc give you an estimated range to expect?

I lived outside of Tuscaloosa. I miss it too. I live in WV. Born and raised a Mountaineer but a Alabamian at heart!

I know! I am excited to get this weight off! The start of my weight gain was fertility drugs! 45 pounds, 3 sets of drugs, and a surgery later I got pregnant. Lost weight in beginning of pregnancy and only had 3 positive pound weight gain. Over the years I had surgery for my gallbladder, appendix, stat csection, and 7 laparoscopic procedures for endometriosis. The final surgery my hysterectomy really added the weight! I just gave up! So tired of trying every diet and failing!! I exercise but I have so much belly fat from the hormones being imbalanced and scar tissue! Hoping to get this weight off and start running again! I am ready for my old self to come back!

So hoping to get my date on Monday. Just wondering where everyone 's weight is and what they are expecting?? I keep reading that BMI below 40 are slow losers? My Dic asked if I had a goal weight and I didn't know what to say?? I just said I don't want to have any joint pain, no more hypertension, swollen ankles, or the feeling of being humiliated in my clothes! Current weight: 228 Height 5'4"

I don't have a date for surgery yet : ( I have an appt on Monday for psych eval and Doc appt. because of scheduling conflict (his not mine) I also have one more appt on 11/4. I was told that it will only take a few days to get approved so I should be mid to late November!! So excited!

She is my best friend. I have other means of support through other friendships. I just hate that I am going to possibly lose my best friend for doing something for me and my health. Just hurt and confused.

Has anyone pre op or post op had trouble with friends being jealous about surgery? I guess that's what it is.....my best friend won't talk to me about surgery. I don't talk about it very often but when I do she changes the subject. She is overweight but not morbidly. I am worried about our friendship after surgery. I know ppl can say "she really isn't your friend" but she is! Has anyone else approached friends with the same situation?

Hoping my surgery will be the end of November. So excited.
