  1. My list says "Resume your pre-op protein shakes, king gladiator shakes as meal replacements, tomato soup, other soups with no chunks, not milk, everything from week one." That is literally all it says so I was trying to get ideas.. thanks!
  2. Yay! I start my full liquid week tomorrow (week 2 post op), I'm going to the store and wondering if you guys could give me any ideas on what to buy or kinds of soups I can eat... Excited about this 2nd week!
  3. I had a different doctor, Hollis, but used that hospital.. the nurses, staff, everyone was awesome!! My husband and I were very pleased..
  4. I did my research.. My Ob-gyn and my primary doctor both suggested Dr. Hollis in the Houston area. They said he was the best. Trying to go directly through him never happened. His schedule is so tight and I could get no appt. So I decided to go through true results. The day I went to true results I had 80% of what I needed done. In one day. It was so fast. After they sent the case to dr Hollis' office it just became a waiting game. I called them almost every day. I met the nurse practitioner for about 20 mins in a group meeting about 2 wks before my surgery, then that same day I met the dr. In the same group meeting for about 10 mins. I didnt see him again until the day of the surgery for about 5 mins and that was it. Everyone talks about having a NUT.. I don't think I have one! Everytime I have questions I have to call the nurse practitioner and like she stated the day we met, "Don't call me over silly stuff!" .... So I try not to call.. I wonder if it would have been different If I went directly through him..
  5. I panicked today. I had my surgery 6 days ago and it just seems like a HUGE bubble of gas gets stuck right in the middle of my chest and it hurts so much.. does anyone else feel like that?
  6. How are you feeling? I am 6 days out too.. my surgery was 8/26. Are you havong any complications or discomfort?
  7. My sweet husband gave me home made chicken broth and it was awesome.. amazing how it changed my attitude!! I'm gonna stick to the rules.. thanks for all the advice!!
  8. I'm supposed to be on clear liquid for a week and then all liquids for another week then pureed food for another week.. I was wondering, since I can't really drink much and I've only been on clear liquids for 4 days, what would happen if I start drinking yogurt 5 days post op? I've noticed some people were on clear liquids for a few days, I've done lots of research and it seems ok.. but I just wanted to get other opinions. Looking for ANY way to get more protein in.. thanks in advance!
  9. I've been crying and whining all day because I feel bad.. I'm 5 days post op and can't drink shakes or that much water.. I told my husband I regreted it.. but then I saw your post and wow.. there's hope!! You look AMAZING!! I guess ill put my big girl panties on and keep sipping my water.. Congratulations!!
  10. I was sleeved on 8/26 and still having trouble with shakes.. I can't drink them.. I didn't really feel hungry until yesterday.. the smell of food made me grouchy cuzni couldn't eat what my family was eating. Cant waid for pureed food.. and then real food..
  11. Update: called doctor and I was told blood clots don't cause numbness so its just my body reacting to everything. Popsicles are wonderful as I am able to keep them in and eat a ton of them but she really wants me to push the shakes and I don't think I'm ready to start throwing up again. Maybe I exaggerate, BUT, I hate the feeling of being ignored when I call.. I know they're the doctors and they know better but if I'm concerned don't just disregard my concern, show a little compassion please.. don't make me feel stupid .. Thanks for letting me Vent.. you guys are awesome..
  12. I had my surgery on Monday the 26th.. Stayed in the hospital over night and was not able to eat anything for those two days.. Right before I left the hospital I threw up this bile nasty bitter brown and yellowish stuff, I couldn't swallow anything because my chest feels full of air. I feel like I have phlegm in the back of my throat and when i spit it out its phlegm with blood and then comes the throw up for sure..Yesterday, Wednesday, I was able to sip small amounts of water, a little bit of chicken broth and all thanks to the supposotories my doctor ordered to help with the nausea and vomiting. My nausea is not gone.. today I still feel the pain in my chest, it hurts! I'm so hungry, cannot stomach the protein shakes, and I'm very discouraged.. I can handle the pain, the incisions don't bother me.. I'm not even taking any pain meds because they make me nauseous but the chest pain and throwing up is driving me crazy.. what else can I eat? What else can I do? Wlaking is not really helping all this gas in my chest.. should I be concerned? Also my left upper thigh feels numb.. am I going crazy? HELP!!
