Hi all....
I am still at the beginning of the process...however I am wondering if wine is allowed post-op? I work 2nd shift as a nurse and enjoy a glass when I get home while checking email, or watching tv....is this a soon to be "no-no"? Thanks...
A co-worker of mine had the bypass a year ago, she was heavy but not what they would call morbidly obese. She now looks gaunt and sickly, just skin and bone. Definatley not what I hope to look like when all is said and done. She said she went for the bypass because it's faster, however she can't stop losing the weight.
Sadly we are nurses, and it's tough to see her go down like she is. That surgery really scares me.
I know the lap abnd is the way I need to go.
Hi...
I'm a newbie and curious, what do they consist of? Cardiology...dietary....and psychiatry??What do they need to ask?
What other pre-op testing is involved?
Thanks
Hi all...
I am at the very beginning of the process, just got approval from my primary this week.
I am reading and trying to absorb as much info from you all as I can. THANK YOU!
Anyhow,I am curious about the fills. I gather that they are not part of your oroginal surgical fees, each time you have it done there is a fee? Is it ever added right in to the whole upfront costs? Does ins. cover the fills as well? It seems as though they should since they are a nessessary part of the procedure?
Anyhow, thanks again....I will read on. I am very anxious to have this done.
From a "newbie". I am just beginning-waiting on my seminar 9/4. I am reading a whole lot, very thankful to have found you all.
Anyhow, why is bread such a hard to eat post op food? And what are PBs and sliming??
Thanks!
Thanks for the welcome and advice...I think this will be a very nice place to be during this process!
So...for those of you post surgery-what are your meals like? How much can you acually eat, and what if you eat too much?

Hi everyone....
This is my 1st post! I am just starting my journey, went to my primary today for her approval (whew!). She will write my letter of necessity. My orientation seminar is sept 4th. About how long does the process take from the seminar to surgery? I'm sure all are different, but I'm hoping it's not months and months. I am getting remarried next October 9th, and REFUSE to wear a plus size gown!!
Good luck to all and thanks:thumbup:
