I like to think that my nose picking escapades helped in the derailment!

Morphine doesn't work well with me. My surgeon uses Dilauded, which I prefer. Apparently they send me home with liquid oxy?

I really have no idea what this thread is about and why everyone is getting so bent out of shape...but here's my two cents....mean people suck. Be nice. Is it really worth getting so worked up over a post from a total stranger on the internet? Nah. Life's too short. And sometimes I do like people.

What type of pain killers did you have while in the hospital? What about when you went home? What did you have for anti-nausea in the hospital and at home?

Hopes and Dreams
Have you had anyone accuse you of being vain or taking the easy way out?

Hopes and Dreams
What are you hoping to "gain" by losing weight with this surgery? I'm having this surgery so that I can lose weight and have a safer hernia surgery in the Spring. I am a bladder cancer survivor. I had my bladder removed in a long 12 hour surgery in March of 2011. I started developing a hernia a few months after surgery, and it has now grown to be 14 cm in diameter. It could have it's own zip code. The surgeon suggested that I lose weight prior to fixing the hernia, for a less life-threatening procedure and higher success rate. My real hope and dream is to eventually gain my life back. My husband and I have been foster parents for about 8 years now. We've lost three babies of our own, had four failed adoptions, lost our last baby when they found the tumors in my bladder. I am 45 years old, and would like to one day have a "forever child". We are trying to adopt. I want to be able to take care of and have energy and be able to play with our child, if we ever reach our fundraising goal to afford adoption! I can't do that now, with a 14 cm hernia. It hurts to walk any distance now. We have numerous fundraisers going on right now. I have different online parties all the time, that my friends hold for us. Our goal, along with having the funds to adopt, is for both of us to be able to successfully parent a child of our own. And my hope is that this surgery is the first step to achieving our goal.

I've been perusing YouTube, trying to find an old "Hee Haw" video with Roy Clark and Buck Owens singing "I'm a pickin' and I'm a grinnin'" Not having any luck. And just showed my age.

At the risk of being accused of starting the silly "let's just change the subject with meaningless rhetoric" tactic....sometimes I pick my toes too. When I can reach them.

Anyone try Aloe Vera juice?
I used aloe vera juice on my scalp during chemo. I'm not sure if it helped with hair loss (I lost more than half my hair) but it soothed my scalp and supposedly made for a more hospitable environment for regrowth.

Lorazepam and Valium have been my true-blues throughout this whole cancer process. Oncologist suggested it, got it in IV form after surgery, urologist prescribed through recovery. I've learned not to be a hero and take whatever is offered to help. MRI's are scary. The waiting for results is even scarier to me.

Are you serious? How far out are you? What treatment did you have? I just had my 2.5 year scans last week, along with all my sleeve pre-testing. All clear!

I clearly have NOT BEEN POSTING HERE for over a month. And I quoted the whole post. I tend to do that when I want to accurately reply. I have chemo brain and forget very easily, and so quoting helps me remember. I repeat, absolutely no mocking. And I think you may be the only one who was reading it that way?

If you thought this was me "mocking" you.....nonono. Don't try to read into things that simply aren't there. I say what I mean and mean what I say.

You are absolutely and unbelievably wrong. I was mocking nothing. I was saying that I HAD ONLY BEEN HERE A MONTH. And I DO NOT LIKE ANYONE. Wow. Seriously?

LOL squishy face. I think I may have joined when the possibility of the Sleeve first came up, but I know I only started posting right before my approval. But yes, I am always confuzzled. But I mean well.
