  11. Has anyone ever gotten approved for WLS without having a primary care physician ? I am currently in between PCP's my last did not support WLS and now I'm looking for a new one, it seems like the WLS institute is really pushing me to get a PCP to write a letter for me, but I already has medical proof and a registered dietitian who I did the 6months diet with for insurance purposes. Please let me know your experience... Thanks
  12. Thank you both SO MUCH !!! I am literally sitting in the office waiting in the surgeon now looking at these awesome questions & concerns thank you again I'll let you know how it goes
  13. I'm meeting with the surgeon this Friday and I'm looking for advice or suggestions about what questions to ask and inquire about. I'm so anxious that will probably not ask a thing... and leave without answers I probably really need. Anyone with thoughts or experience please respond thanks.
  14. I went to a registered dietician, I don't have a PCP and I'm hoping all my documentation will be accepted by my insurance co. Because I read their policy and no where in the list of needed info for WLS did it say it had to be from a certain kind of physician... "medical documentation " , so I'm hoping I'm ok. I meet with the surgeon this Friday, and before hand I already submitted the paperwork to the patient advocate, who had a nurse look over it before scheduling this meeting. So my fingers are crossed!!!!
  15. I am meeting with Dr.Mario Morales this Friday, about surgery I have submitted all my proof of weight loss attempts and I believe the insurance needs to get approval to him. Did he let you decide on the sleeve or did he suggest otherwise? Thanks
  16. Hey everyone I am currently awaiting my one on one visit with Dr.Morales next Friday where he will be determining the best surgery for me, I want the sleeve I assume after he decides then the paperwork will be submitted to the insurance co. For approval. Is anyone else familiar with this part of the process? Tips & questions to ask? Any good advice. Thanks
  17. How are things going after the lift?
  18. @@chooter I will be getting that checklist this week from GEHA , I've finished my 6month diet and I'm ready!!!
  19. I hope I have this much luck and blessings with approval , I have just finished my required documentation and 6 month diet for insurance purposes and I will submitting everything next week. Did you go through a patient advocate or did you submit it directly to your insurance company?..
  20. Thanks for the feedback right now I don't have a PCP but I have going to a nutritionist who is covered by my insurance and keeping the logs for food and exercise, this last visit I've lost ,9lbs in one month . And initially at the wls seminar it seemed as if the insurance would be the easiest step listening to the wls advocate but now I'm not so sure.
  21. I currently have GEHA but when I go to the doctor they refer to it as Healthlink. I am in the 6 month physician documented diet which is mandated by the insurance company and I am getting disappointed with the process. Has anyone ever been approved with GEHA/ Healthlink? Also did you lose any weight during the 6 month diet requirement? Thanks in advance
  22. I found this very inspiring, I have no kids but have been diagnosed with PCOS as a teenager, I am hoping to get approved for surgery this year and one of goals including weight loss is to become pregnant. Thank you for sharing
