Make sure you're aware of what exactly your nutritionist and surgeon want as far as dietary plans go. From what I've read on this site, my plan is very different from the "norm". A lot of people have a two week pre-op clear liquid diet, and I am allowed one meal a day with protein shakes as the other two replacement meals. I was also looking for an alternative to the Bariatric Advantage protein powder (which is what my NUT recommends and pushes) but I didn't like the taste of it. A lot of members on here suggested Syntrax, which my NUT says I shouldn't be using for shakes because it's too low in protein. Just see if your nutritionist has a guideline of how many grams of protein/sugar/carbs he/she thinks is ideal for you to have per meal and find your own alternatives to suggest next appointment. This site is very helpful with that, as I've found so far on the beginning of this journey.
