  1. Thank y'all so much! Those are great ideas! I'm doing the measuring cup and setting a timer every hour! I do not want to go back to the ER!
  2. I'm a sophomore in college going to school for nursing!
  3. My mom is constantly on me about it. I wish I had a good way to measure liquids every time. I'll have some milk then some Gatorade then water and just pour them out of a big jug not knowing exactly how much I'm talking in. I really need to start being diligent about measuring.
  4. How long did the bloated stomach last after surgery?
  5. Thank you so much for your replies. I'm only 19 so all this is kinda scary to me. But it did scare me into drinking! I'm drinking milk for calories and fat and protein. I'm also drinking Gatorade and I will probably have some tomato soup for dinner. I wasn't drinking enough so that's my own fault. I won't let it happen again. Going into all this, my biggest fear was leak, so if dehydration is the worst, I'm happy about that. I hate the protein shakes so I'm figuring different ways to get protein in. My nutritionist said I need to drink two protein shakes tomorrow but that's going to be awful. But thankfully she said Sunday I could have yogurt because this happened.
  6. I went to the ER with dizziness, headache, rapid heart rate. They said I had dehydration and my body was going into ketosis where you start to eat your own muscle. That eventually it could be life threatening. I'm 7 days post op so this is scary! I lost 13 pounds in 9 days. I started at 180, I now weight 167. I just hope it's only dehydration and not a leak :/ scared.
  7. That's so great! Congrats! Can't wait to be further out!
  8. HW 189 SW 180 DAY OF SURGERY 177 6 DAYS POST OP 170 5'3 Everyone should give an update on here! So curious to see where everyone is out. I've been so excited and today I read some negative stories and it really got me down ): need some positive ones!
  9. I just used him. And he is amazing. Book directly through him. Speak to Alina. It's wlsclinic, not Mexico bariatrics. My surgery went amazing and I'm on day 3 and going shopping in tijuana!
  10. I just want to say how amazing Dr Kelly is. He has come to see me everyday and completely been there for my every need. He is such an amazing person and really cares for his patients. Everyone I have talked to who has personally used him agrees, he is an amazing surgeon. I am so happy I picked him! And hospital NOVA is a bit older, but it was clean and that is what matters. But he would not put you in a situation that wasn't completely safe. I just can't thank him enough for treating me so great and being such an amazing person! I feel so much better today and I'm just relieved I made this decision!
  11. He did not use a drain on me! I was sleeved yesterday!
  12. I'm staying in hospital NOVA right now. I was sleeved yesterday with Dr. Ramos Kelly. Rest assured, you picked an amazing surgeon. However, the hospital has some concerned. I'm a daughter of a mom in the Army and the hospital I am used to is on a military base in North Carolina and it probably one of the nicest cleanest hospitals I have ever seen, NOVA isn't like that. It is alright but when I walked in, I did still have surgery here so it's not that bad. The OR is a little questionable but I trust Dr Kelly so I trusted the OR and here I am the day after and feeling better. I did feel awful yesterday though. The nurses are great but the language barrier is an issue so bring a medical cheat sheet for Spanish phrases. But overall I would do it again. I just wish NOVA didn't have so many other people here for general care.
  13. Thank you all so much! How did y'all deal with getting up and down without feeling like you are straining your stomach?
  14. How did y'all deal with getting up and down to not feel like you are straining your stomach? Thank you for all the support I already feel a little better this morning.
  15. I had surgery yesterday at 3 in the afternoon with dr. Ramos Kelly in TJ Mexico. He is amazing and his nurses are great too. However the language barrier is an issue with the nurses. I have never posted on here but I've been reading books worth of post on this site. And I figured since now I was sleeved, I should. The pain is terrible. I cry and scream with how bad it hurts, I know other people said the opposite but idk shy mine is so horrible. I tried to walk but I throw up when I walk. Pray for me please that this horrible pain will go away. Oh, and I am only 19.
  16. I've never posted on here but I've read books worth of posts on here. I had surgery at 3 with Dr. Ramos Kelly in TJ. Got here and was extremely nervous and I started crying on the table when they put me under. Granted I'm only 19. Dr. Kelly is amazing but the nurse are great too however the language barrier is kind of an issue. As for pain, it's awful. I've been crying, screaming, and being rude because I'm in pain. After what I've read, I didn't think it would be that bad. And I'm on some serious pain drugs too. Walking makes me throw up but I still do it. I can't sleep for more than 30 minutes. Please pray for me y'all
