  1. I'm in Wylie. Surgery is 8/19 with Dr. Nicholson.
  2. I finally got scheduled today! August 19th at surgery center of Richardson which I think is True Results. It just got real very fast. I can't decide if I'm more scared or nervous!!
  3. I'm on my phone too. I think the simple name is good. The other I'm in is private so it doesn't show up on your friends newsfeed which I like.
  4. It looks like I'm joining the September club. I was aiming for August but thinking it won't happen. Has anyone started a FB group? When I was going for August someone set one up and it has been great!
  5. NewMommy, did your dad get his date?
  6. Happy to hear your feeling ok. What is the left stitch that everyone talks about?
  7. Yep! That's why I'm having surgery there. I wasn't unhappy with my experience there this morning, I've just had better at other hospitals.
  8. I checked in at 7:45 and didn't have the egd until 10:30. The nurse that did my IV put it on the underneath side of my forearm. It hurt everytime I just rested my arm because it put pressure on it. Then the nurse that took it out couldn't get it out. she literally pulled on it until the tubing disconnected from the part in my vein and then had to pull the part in my arm out. Lol my arm is bruised and rock hard where the iv was. Certainly not huge issues and I'm still planning on having surgery there.
  9. I think I'm just going to let it be and not rush it. I'll call next week and see if there are any cancelations for next Thursday. I may push the dates I want to the end of September...after two of my sons birthdays and my husbands birthday. If my oldest has to miss a day of school or two in order to have child care taken care of then so be it. I witnessed what's like to be the last patient today at Victory. Lol I felt like I waited forever for the egd today after checking in. Victory is nice. Very small but the nurses I had were nice. It seemed a little disorganized. I still like forest park better.
  10. I should have said I know the week I want to have surgery. It's completely flexible but I'm trying to have it the week before school starts back up so I don't have to try to coordinate kids getting to school. It doesn't really matter which day.
  11. I had my egd today and called Dr. Nick's office to schedule my next appt. they can't get me in until the 8th!! Last time I made an appointment they were able to get me in quickly. They said I can call to see if there are any cancellations. But everything else has been moving so quickly I hate now having a 2 week wait. I know it's just an appointment to set surgery date. I know the date I want. Any suggestions? Think I could email to get a date set up?
  12. Class action lawsuits are different for consumers versus regular lawsuits. You usually just have to sign up for it and then after a while you get a check in the mail if you won the lawsuit. You are not out any money and don't have to do anything but fill out a form. At least that's my experience.
  13. Yes, I have heard nothing but wonderful things about him. I really like him so far. His staff has been awesome too. I have heard a few bad things about one of his PA's but that's it. When I had an appointment last week there wasn't anyone else in there besides me and they called me back immediately. I hope it remains that efficient! How do you like Dr. Kuhn?
  14. I'm using Dr. Nick Nicholson and think my surgery will be at Victory Medical Center in Plano.
  15. I'm trying to get August 20th. I have me EGD next week and will know more after that. I'm in Dallas, TX.
  16. I've had back surgery and take regular pain meds for chronic pain so I'm worried they won't give me something strong enough since I've built up a bit of tolerance.
  17. What pain meds does Dr. Nick usually give in the hospital?
  18. That's crazy he does so many a day!! You were at Victory, right? How are you feeling? Everything go ok? He told us at the seminar he has lost 3 patients. 1 st was a man with extremely high bmi and his heart failed. 2nd was a young girl and her organs started failing and she wouldn't wake up but turned out there was an underlying undiagnosed medical condition and then the 3rd was pulmonary embolism 6 weeks post op.
  19. I went to the consult today and was shocked how fast I was in and out of there. I'm scheduled for egd next Wednesday at Victory Medical. He did tell me that if I wanted insurance to cover part of the cost if I have a hiatal hernia then surgery would have to be at Victory. Not a big deal seeing that it would save me $8k!! Funny story...my appt was at 11:45 and my husband met me there. We went for lunch after the appt and who do we see at the restaurant...Dr. Nick. The only table open was right next to him. It was slightly awkward...it wasn't the healthiest of restaurants and it was 15 minutes after talking to him about taking most of my stomach out. We had some chit chat but luckily he left before our food came out. Lol
