I just called Dr Spitz Rockwood office today inquiring about the sleeve surgery. I live in Spokane and I'm so happy you posted this. I will call Dr Bright tomorrow. Did it take long to get an appointment for surgery?

Who would I talk to? I called my insurance and they said it will not cover any weight-loss procedures. It's very frustrating. I was going to get a scope to see if I have problems with my hernia and they refused because of my band. I definitely will not go back to Mexico just in case the hernia is like my friends. Scary! HI, What is a bilateral PE? I need my band removed as well and my insurance won't cover it. My friend had hers removed in Mexico and went in a year later to have a by pass and her liver was growing into her hernia and stomach. Dr Sung from Swedish clinic said she's lucky to be alive, 6 surgeons worked on her and she almost bled to death. Her band was placed by a mexican doctor and removed by a mexican doctor. Dr Sung said when you remove your band there is a flap of skin that must be placed over your stomach in a certain way and it wasn't done properly. If she hadn't went in for her by pass she would have died, it saved her life. I happen to have a hernia in the same spot as her, so I really need to get this taken out ASAP! My band was done in mexico as well. Has anyone ever had this problem? I would love to hear from you. Thanks

I am self pay as well and trying to find a good doctor. I'm from Spokane Washington but I'm willing to fly. Does anyone know of a doctor that doesn't charge a fortune and has a good reputation a little closer to home? Any help would be appreciated. In Spokane and Seattle the surgeons i contacted start at 25 grand and up for the sleeve. I can't afford that. I need my band removed at the same time. I have a hernia but doctor said it was no big deal. Thanks!

I am wondering what made some of you decide to go to Dr Alverez and why did you choose the gastric sleeve over the by pass?
