How old...
Thanks for replying. We've been trying for a baby for 7 years, small problems on both sides that lead to big problems when put together. PCOS and endo on my side. I know they say women are waiting longer, but when does it become too late? I'm really really counting on this to work.

How old...
For those who got pregnant after wls. How old were you when you had wls? How old were you when you got pregnant? My dr. Says I have plenty of time to have a baby but I don't feel like I do. I feel like time is running out. I'm only 30 (31 in nov. ). I'm having the sleeve done August 5 as a tool to fight infertility.

Have you all been sleeved? I just got my date of August 5! I really wanted it to be sooner but I'm also excited that now I can eat all my homegrown veggies! It's so much more rewarding and satisfying when you grow from seeds! I'll also be learning to can foods, that might be interesting!! If any of you can, do you have any tomato recipes you like?

Who's playing the waiting game with me?
Thank you! I'm excited. At least now I have plenty of time for my garden to grow and I am going to try to eat all the fresh veggies I can pick since I won't be able to afterwards! lol. Looks like I'm going to learn how to can veggies for later! And I have time now to do the heavy lifting reorganizing in my craft room... Can you tell I'm trying to stay busy?? Will it make the time go faster?? Maybe I should clear out and reorganize the garage? Oh and the tuppawear drawer! Maybe ill find all the lids I can't find. Hahaha.

Telling the inlaws...
Well! One set of in laws down and two BFFs and so far so good! I think they are all a little worried because of horror stories they heard from so and so cousins friends aunt. But they listened and asked questions and everything went well. Lol. Though, I really thought I was going to throw up right before I told my mother in law. She loves me dearly though and is already very supportive!! Thank goodness!!

Anyone had problems getting pregnant before surgery?
Well. I hope it works for you! I should be having my surgery in about two weeks.

Sleeve before or after pregnancy?
7 years of infertility here. I'm getting the surgery and hoping that will help me get pregnant. Here's my opinion. Get the surgery ASAP because you never know if losing the weight will make you more fertile or not. If it does then great! If it doesn't, then at least you are losing weight and looking and feeling better. I had to choose the VSG over IVF. I did this for the reason above. IVF might not work either, then what am I left with? Nothing. At least the VSG gives back. Good luck with your choice.

Sleeve before or after pregnancy?
YES!!!

Anyone had problems getting pregnant before surgery?
I know exactly what you're going through and the choice you've made! I'm doing it to. We've been trying to have a baby for 7 years. Multiple failed IUIs, one miscarriage and years of broken heartness. They say that our fat stores extra estrogen which causes problems for fertility. And yes, they say you can become very fertile after surgery. I will be on lupron injections to treat my endo and that will work as my birth control. My surgeon knows that I am only willing to wait 6 months post surgery before we get started trying again. I'm 31 this year and I am determined to start my family!! Best of luck to you Hun! Do you have a date yet?

all alone :( Arkansas
I went to college in Russellville before I moved to NWA. I'm getting sleeved by Dr. Roller in Fayetteville. Everything is in house there as far as nut and drs. And labs go. Good luck with wherever you go! Russellville has grown quiet a bit since I left!

Who's playing the waiting game with me?
I'm kinda on the fast track though since I'm self pay, no waiting on insurance to go through and no hoops to jump through. It took us 5years to save up for this and it feels so close and so far away at the same time. Best of luck to everyone!

So, I'm approved and all my pre testing evals are done. Now I'm just waiting on the final appointment with the surgeon and a surgery date. From what I understand it could be another two weeks. Fun times.

Getting very close
I've been thinking about doing a living will too. My husband thinks its a little extreme but surgery is surgery and anything can happen. Good luck on your new beginning!

Cath & Drain
I haven't been sleeved yet but I had another surgery in march and had a cath. Thankfully it was put in and taken out while I was still in the OR. However my handbook from my wlcenter says we will get a cath and it will stay in until the following day or on discharge. I hope it's not going to be bad to have taken out while I'm awake.

- VSG and Lupron injection?
I have never had pain from my endo. My period cramps suck , and have gotten stronger since surgery in march but I don't have any pain outside of that time. The dr kept asking if sex hurt or if I had pain during the month and no. The only reason we did the lap was because after doing multiple ultrasounds to check on follicles (sometimes three a week) we noticed my left ovary was in the same exact place every time. Turns out when we had the lap he found the endo had "glued" both of my ovaries to my abdominal wall. And it had covered 2/3 of my uterus. He says lupron is my best shot at clearing up the mess. He is onboard with me getting the shot while doing the vsg since I'd need to be on birth control anyway. I'm ready to get started though. I'm going to go look at hair pieces to help hide whatever I lose. I have hypothyroidism so it's going to be a triple whammy on the hair falling out.- Telling the inlaws...
So I've made lunch and dinner reservations with both sets of inlaws (mom/stepdad & dad/stepmom) for this Saturday. We are finally going to tell them what's going on and that ill be having the vsg within the next few weeks. I know they will be shocked and have questions and I'm really Hoping they will be supportive. They've seen me struggle with my weight up and down and back up over the last ten years and I think we all know my weight has a part in why I can't have children. Wish me luck and courage!- Chiropractor
How soon after your surgery did you go to the chiro? I go about once or twice a month right now pre-sleeved.- Now I know exactly what my PPI does....
Oh! I'm on that now. This is my second day. And I think it's the reason I have headaches and am dizzy. It's the only new thing I've started. I'm hoping it'll pass soon though. - Gardening
