  1. I'm going to keep an eye on this thread I'm 5'5" but pre-op. I'm pear shaped, tried searching for other pears but didn't come up with much.
  2. That's the weird thing about that, I get packages from UPS ground all the time. I have a shop runner account that gives me free two day shipping for certain stores. I think they are overcharging shipping prices. If you find any other deals please do let me know! I went on
  3. Not to Alaska, unfortunately. I tried to ask customer service if they could do anything but that was no help. They say they ship usps and fed ex, but I really don't see why they are only offering me 2 day shipping when they could use a cheaper route and get more business. Oh well
  4. Well dang The only shipping option they give me is 2 day or overnight, starting at $35. boo!
  5. Thanks Wags! I'd be a little uncomfortable if there weren't any tests prior to surgery, so if it comes down to Mexico for me.. I feel much better!
  6. Can anyone recommend some post op liquids from here? I want to place an order, but really unsure of what to get.
  7. Amazing! I wish I could look that good in glasses!
  8. Thank you! I'm a little relieved it didn't happen the first time, because it was for RNY and I really didn't want that surgery... but it was that or lapband. Things happen for a reason, here's my second chance I suppose
  9. I'm really excited, but at the seminar he stated he required proof of previous diet attempts (6 months worth). This isn't an insurance requirement and nothing is actually going to be handled by my insurance since it's at a military treatment facility. While I don't have hard proof of my previous diets (like a WW printout), I have gathered up pictures of myself (What I could find, I don't like pictures) showing different weights, and wrote down the diets and other methods I've used, total weight lost and gained back and dates. I also was put on Phentermine by my PCP last October as my last ditch effort to lose the weight, and I just don't like the feeling that stuff gave me. I did give it a shot though! So my question is, has anyone's surgeon required the 6 month diet thing and was persuaded to cut or shorten the time? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, a couple years back, I went through this process before up until right before the wheeled me back to be put under. My surgeon(different guy) didn't look at my labs, but anesthesiologist did and noticed my platelets were too low to have surgery. They cancelled on me, sent me home and I refused to go back. So I guess I'm just hoping he will cut me some slack on this diet thing.
  10. Were you both sleeved in Mexico?? That's why I ask. I'm a long ways from Mexico, and doing preop tests there 2 weeks before would be impossible lol My insurance doesn't cover the sleeve, but they opened a bariatric center on base and the surgeon does this surgery. So, I can get it done completely free on base only. My concern is that he is pretty new(straight out of school I believe), and I'm afraid of how long the wait is going to be.
  11. I'm meeting with my surgeon on the 11th, but I am exploring other options as well.. just in case. What do they require pre-op test wise? Labs, ekg, xrays? Do you go to your PCP for this? Or do they require nothing? Thanks in advance!
  12. You look fantastic! Thank you for posting and congratulations!
  13. Can you call a cab? I hope you get to the ER, even if it's nothing serious... better safe than sorry.
  14. Currently residing in Anchorage, Alaska
  15. I'm in Anchorage as well! No surgery date yet, meeting my surgeon on the 11th for a consult though.
  16. Oh, it's not the needle I'm afraid of lol I have multiple tattoos and piercings. I'm afraid of bleeding out :/
  17. Do they always give blood thinners before surgery? Just a little curious because I have borderline low blood platelets which cause me to bruise and bleed easily as it is. Anyone else have that experience?
