Food has been a constant companion the tender age of 4. Sweets were my weakness. As I grew, older, I noticed life changed constantly. Relations come and go. Family takes you through highs and lows, careers are unstable, but the obsession of food and the relationship to it has caused me to search for answers in food that has caused me to be in my current state, obese.
I have tried many fad diets, structured diets, medical diets, gym rat, OA, even hypnosis and acupuncture. To my dismay, all have failed and my relationship to food prevailed over and over again. It’s like hoarders that keep stuff all around until they cannot function, so am I with my weight. I hid behind it, use it as an excuse not to be social, use it to remain safe as the curvy (fat) lady with a cute face.
One day I woke up and my health was in a decline. Regardless of what I did to save myself, I felt it was too late. Hormonal changes, mid-life crisis, stress, life changes, came in various degrees and the more I climbed out with fad diets and life style changes, the weight creped on and brought some of its friends.
There is no easy way out. I need help!!!! I started researching the band, gastric by-pass and the vertical sleeve. On July 8th, 2013 my life as I know it will change forever.
