  7. Hello, My name is Dee Dee . I am a military spouse and mom of two beauty queens, lol . I am considering WLS for several reasons. One, I need to lose weight (duh, right? Two, I have been having some health issues that needs to be addressed b4 I am forced to take extra medicines for it. And B/c for the first time in my life, i think, I've decided to put me first! Not in a selfish way, b/c I even cringed when I wrote the words, but in a way that says, I mean something to myself as well. I've taken care of many, my husband, friends, kids, family members and just recently my mom (God rest her soul, who passed away w/ a battle of cancer) . She was my rock and I still talk and look to her for advice. And one of her biggest topics to me was to "take care of yourself poonie b/c we want you around". Since she passed, i've put on extra weight, like 30 lbs in a few months, i'm not happy about it, but it was a way of grieving as well as punishing myself b/c she is gone...I watched her take her last breath, so I hear and see it alot. I know though, that she IS in Heaven and that is what has helped me get to this point. She is not suffering anymore, so why am I? She is happy and wants me happy too. She knows that I love her and I know she loves me, so why should I keep harming myself, knowing that I too am a mom and have kids and a hubby who loves me no matter what. I am excited to go and hear what they tell me on June 13th, but i wished it were here already. I've been anticipating and reading about it all since about a month now, and am excited that in 13 days, I may be on a new journed to gaining my life back. I just want to be healthy again, active, be an example to my kids and to myself, you know, practice what i preach I just wanted to introduce myself a bit and to say thanks to all who have written on this blog b/c if it were NOT for your words, I wouldn't know what to expect, think or do. B/c of all of your inputs, I feel like i could do the surgery, write a book on it, lol...but most of all, Live w/ the decision that I make concerning it. So thank you all, whoever you are!! I look forward to joining the ranks of many. God Bless and good luck w/ your new selves
  8. that was cute, i was reading w/ such passion and interest...and thennnn, lol, nice way to start my day, thx:))
  9. Hello. I'm a little concerned about your not getting all the food you need for both you and your baby. You said you were nursing? I nursed both of mine and they ate often, I don't c how your body can do that and maintain the proper vitamins not only that you need but your baby needs. I know that God has made our bodies to be able to be "supermoms" as needed, but still, you had a sleeve and now can't have all that you need. I do pray that you are keeping up w/ both your sleeve doc and your gyn to make sure that both of you are getting properly fed, esp the baby since he/she is depending on what you are putting in your body in order for them to properly grow. Just MHO. good luck:)
  10. Well, I'm glad we all can help answer questions. Ik that the hypo controls it, but now I c that ghelin can affect the hypo as well. Thx
  11. IMHO, this new you is given to us as a "tool" only. In the beginning, yes, I hear that it practically does the work for you, now w that being said, it is during those months that we shud b learning just how to retrain ourselves on how to eat better. I've read that the sleeve is alot different than gastric bypass bc gb does all the work, the sleeve, as I see it, gets you prepared to work. As som1 said, we didn't get fat over night, n tho it seems that getting skinny is overnight, its not, its a lifestyle change. So go bck to ur postop basics until you've learned how to find your own fullness cues. If you need more help than what the sleeve can provide, then think about doing the 2nd stage, gb, in the next 6_18 months so I've read. Hope it helps, but remember, this is a tool, but you have to use it properly n wisely. U can't use a hammer as a saw an expect the same results. Go look at old pictures n find ur motivation to continue ur New path. Good luck!
  12. God Bless and Happy Healing as well as a gr8 welcome to your new Life!! Hang in there. Let us know when all is done:))))
  13. Hi, i am new here as of last night. I have a meeting on June 13th about the surgery, so I hopefully will be joining the ranks soon. I am not sure just what you should do according to who or where you got your surgery done, but i did find this link on the net. Maybe you can view it and c what helps, if at all. 14. Hello Paloma. I am new here as of last night but have been reading the forums for almost 3 weeks b/c I am considering the surgery as well and I have a meeting on June 13th and then I'll know more then. I am anxious but so excited. Now, this is my first post, and I am glad to start it w/ you..."Dear Father in Heaven, You made us and You and only YOU know all about us, and our desires, needs and hopes. Right now, I ask you, on behalf of Paloma and Myself, to please be w/ her tomorrow as she takes on this new journey in LIFE. We know that through you all things are possible, and we also know that you provide people in our paths to help us when we ourselves can not do it alone and we thank you for them. I pray that you give her surgeons and all who will be involved in her procedure all that is needed for it to successful in every way, both during and afterwards. Dear God, we love you so much and we thank you for second chances. Please be w/ her and give her the peace of mind to go in knowing that You will be there leading the team! Thank your for hearing our prayers and it is IN Your name that I pray, Amen." I do pray that this will comfort you and your family, please let us know how you are doing afterwards....C the New You soon. Bye4now, DeezJeanz
