hi all! just got banded on Friday. I'm sore and pretty freaked out about what's to come - am scared to eat right now. I've been so looking forward to the band but am now a bit anxious to have it and not know how the future will be with it. Any words of encouragement or advice for my new journey? -
Congrats on getting your band! I'm scheduled tomorrow morning at 8am - very scared but also excited. I'm in Cincy as well - with Dr. Curry. Who did your surgery? Any advice now that you're a few days in?

I have a date - Aug 10th and I'm freaking out a bit. Am anxious to start the process but scared at the same time. I'm glad to find a group to begin the journey with! -
:help:I am trying to schedule my lap band surgery around some international travel I have for work. Two questions I need help with: 1) are there any side effects from high altitude flying and lap band? 2) how long should I wait after surgery to travel for work? any insight is greatly appreciated! I want to have the surgery ASAP but am also starting a new job that has a few trips out of the country this summer.

Did you tell folks (friends, family, coworkers) you were getting the band or not? I haven't gotten mine yet and I'm thinking about not saying anything to folks because I don't want to be judged. Would love to hear what other people did (tell or not) and the reactions you received.
