hi all! just got banded on Friday. I'm sore and pretty freaked out about what's to come - am scared to eat right now. I've been so looking forward to the band but am now a bit anxious to have it and not know how the future will be with it. Any words of encouragement or advice for my new journey?

Congrats on getting your band! I'm scheduled tomorrow morning at 8am - very scared but also excited. I'm in Cincy as well - with Dr. Curry. Who did your surgery? Any advice now that you're a few days in?

I have a date - Aug 10th and I'm freaking out a bit. Am anxious to start the process but scared at the same time. I'm glad to find a group to begin the journey with!

Did you tell folks (friends, family, coworkers) you were getting the band or not? I haven't gotten mine yet and I'm thinking about not saying anything to folks because I don't want to be judged. Would love to hear what other people did (tell or not) and the reactions you received.

:help:I am trying to schedule my lap band surgery around some international travel I have for work. Two questions I need help with: 1) are there any side effects from high altitude flying and lap band? 2) how long should I wait after surgery to travel for work? any insight is greatly appreciated! I want to have the surgery ASAP but am also starting a new job that has a few trips out of the country this summer.
