  1. Had upper gi and my sleeve appears to be a stomach! Avocado shaped said the tech, not small banana!!! I am one yr out, could ALWAYS eat and feel little restricting. They tell me it can't stretch and honestly I don't feel like I ever hurt it or pushed it. Waiting for doc to call me. I gave gained back 20 of the 50. Could they have mis measured?....Because they told me sleeves don't stretch ?

    Where are the 50s ???

Yeah ladies in the 50 range!!! I am so excited we are changing to insurance that will do WLS!! Whoot whoot! I had a lapband in 2006 and had many problems with gastritis. They say it was one of the first bands and many had the same issues. So I was filled and unfilled... not fun ... but I still managed to lose 80 lbs and about 70% of my weight.... until it slipped and had to be removed.... that was almost 2 years ago and I have regained all of that weight back and gained many extra health issues. So NOW... I will be able to do the SLEEVE! I am so hopeful as the health issues mount and I want to ENJOY life! I have to wait till January when the new insurance starts, but I am trying to get it all set up now! I want so much to be successful with VSG!!!!! So unfair that the band failed me!!!! I felt like such a failure but I know it was IT and not me... so excited! I hope to be very very successful and have a true LITTLE black dress!!
  3. The lapband failed me... slipped and out. Next year my insurance changes and they will pay for bariatrics... yeah!! I am pretty sure I want the sleeve.... is it really better weight loss than the band? hmmm

  4. Hi! I am new here and considering the sleeve. I am a Failed lap band person, and was removed due to it slipping a couple of years ago. I have Coventry insurance in Florida and it does not cover weight loss surgery, however, the customer service person told me my policy does include a 'benefit exception' for medical necessity if you have co-morbids- which I do have. The good news for Coventry people is that the company is being purchased by Aetna. However, no ETA on if it will switch or stay until the end of the year. Since it looks like there are posts with Aetna approving, I am hoping if I can't do it now with Coventry I will be able to do it with Aetna by next year. However, you never know what kinds of changes 9 months will bring! Any advice? Anyone with Coventry? I can tell you that when I needed emergency surgery to remove the slipped band, Coventry denied the surgery and I had to self pay for it! That was crazy....
