  1. Lips moisturizer! Will add that to the list. My doctor didn't talk to me yet about my post op diet but he told me that I will start off being in liquids. I think he'll talk me through it just before or after my surgery. Ahh so many mixed feelings!!!
  2. Thank you so much guys! I went to a couple of pharmacies here and it seems that they've never heard of Gas X strips. Will definitely check out the mouth moisturizing drops. If you do think of anything else though, please do let me know the surgery date is getting closer and closer and I'm getting more nervous by the second!
  3. Thanks a lot for that! Makes perfect sense. Cheers!
  4. Hey all, so my surgery is this Tuesday. Since it's already the weekend here in Dubai, I'm planning to go buy the stuff I need for the 2 week period after surgery. So - my list so far includes Protein powder/s or shakes, firming creams (not sure about the brand yet), and ummmm that's it. Help?
  5. Great! Glad everything went well they plan to remove my gallbladder as well. They said that this would make the surgery longer. Any regrets? please say no - haha
  6. Thanks a lot for the reassurance! Really appreciate it! I'm assuming you're already sleeved?
  7. Haha - yay! I now have a bariatric sistaaa! I'm no longer nervous about anesthesia. I'm sure I'll start freakin out again in a few minutes. *zennnnn*
  8. This is hilarious!! It's like you are telling my life story!! Loved the rant! Got millions of them. For example - I know that sometimes the girls in the office want to criticize other girls' bodies and whenever they use the word "fat" they blush and turn a million colors and try to avoid making eye contact with me. What the heck? That makes me even more uncomfortable!!! Or when one of those DVD ladies approach me initially to try to sell DVDs and end up talking to me about the diet pills they can get me. Ahhhhhhh. Feel free to share more of those rants! Can totally relate
  9. Awww thanks for the support <3 I think you said everything that keeps going through my head. I'm just tired of being uncomfortable with myself and hate it when people say "oh but you have such a pretty face!" I've been putting a lot of things on hold for so long waiting for the day I lose weight - and then I realized that this will never happen unless I take this step. Do you have a date yet for your surgery?
  10. I keep blaming it on all the grey's anatomy I watched for the past years! Should totally stop watching this show - at least till surgery! I had to do an endoscopy the other day and they had to sedate me. I think I made everyone so uncomfortable with the crying and shivering. Ahh! I'm not scared of the actual surgery either - just the freakin anesthesia!!
  11. I'm just too scared to go under. My surgery is on April 2.
  12. My surgery is scheduled next week after 3 years of hesitation. The weird thing is that one of my worst fears is Anesthesia and I blame Grey's Anatomy for that anyway, any sleevers in Dubai out there?
  13. Wow - loving the thread!! Found answers to lots of the questions I have. Really really appreciate this!
  14. Thanks for the reply! Glad you're doing great my surgery is scheduled for the third week of April and I'm just so curious to speak to someone who's been sleeved for a while. I started getting all these crazy thoughts in my head thinking maybe their lives don't turn out to be too healthy a few years after the surgery.. That's just me being scared and negative!
  15. Interested to know how you are feeling today after being sleeved so long ago.
  16. Hello from Dubai! My surgery is tentatively scheduled for the the third week of April. I'm excited and terrified but I am so looking forward to meeting the new me! I have a question - might sound stupid but couldn't help myself but ask. Have you guys read any stories, articles, etc about people who got sleeved more than 5 years ago and how they are now? Any suggested readings would be greatly appreciated! Good luck to all <3
