Whey protein tablets from hemopro
I read the label on these and correct me if I'm wrong, but it says 5 pills per serving and a serving is 5 grams of Protein. Not 5 grams per pill. Am I missing something?

I need a good sugar free Popsicle
I also didn't care for the taste of the sugar free popcicles either. So I bought some popcicle molds and made my own. You'll have to experiment for taste. Turns out, after a few times, I developed a taste for my more tart type popcicles. I blend up frozen strawberries, blueberries and bananas with some pomegranate vita Water added. No sugar or any type artificial sweeteners. Put them in the molds and 'viola. (peel and cut the bananas into small pieces before you freeze them.....works better in the blender)

Just joined...Gettin' Sleeved November 4th!
You've pretty much got my same stats. I can tell you it will be a hard effort. The weight is not just going to fall off. Stick very close to your guidelines for the first few weeks and then when you're cleared for workouts and all foods, get in as much liquids and Protein as you can each day. And casual walks won't do it either. I go to the gym and spend about one and a half hours each time with pretty vigorous workouts. It will be slow at first, seeming like your bod is in horrible shape..(which it is) but you will improve rapidly. Actually very fast. It's quite remarkable how quickly you will build strength and stamina. Each session will be an encouragement for the next. I find that even with eating lots of meats and fish, I still need to add in a couple of protein supplements each day to reach my goals. Throw in a shake or two and maybe a power bar and you will get there. Don't fret the stalls as they are just the body trying to salvage body mass as you lose. I usually bounce the calories up & down a little to throw the metabo- off and the stalls break. As long as you stay on course the weight will continue to come off. After about the 6 month mark, it will slow down and you will have to step things up a bit to keep losing. Keep in mind then......you are building muscle and it weighs more than the fat. So if you don' appear to be losing pounds.....you're probably losing inches and gaining more muscle. Good luck with your journey.

Knee Replacement after Sleeve
Yes, but why do they think it will slow you weight loss. I can think of no reason. I lost over 40 lbs after my first TKR because I was not that hungry. I still walked from the first day of Surgery and every day after, so you will get exercise. It it were me, I would get it out of the way. I see no reason why you couldn't recover from both at the same time. Just my non- medical opinion based on my experiences with both surgeries.

Knee Replacement after Sleeve
I had mine done quite a while before my sleeve and the only issue I can conclude that would interfere would be your ability to do rigorous exercises. What did they give for reasons you should delay the TKRs.

Feeling discouraged... Any advice, experiences, kind words welcome.
This pretty much sums it up. It's impossible. While trying not beat a dead horse, there is just no way you are getting the correct interpretation of the requirements. Dig further.

One week before surgery...getting really nervous
Try thinking or obsessing a little differently..... Like strengthening your resolve to follow all the guidelines to get the best possible outcome. Think about being anxious to begin exercising as you lose weight to regain better health. How to shop for more healthly foods, how to cook or prepare those small, high Protein meals. Concentrate on what lies ahead that is in you power to succeed. Leave the surgery and any issues that might arise, unlikey as they might be..... to the professionals. They are prepared and capable of handling whatever arises. And you are too. Relax, You'll be fine.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but with only that supposed 1 pound margin, you might not want to rely on the adjusting you weight idea. Different scales tend to read differently. Unless you know exactly what your doc scale reads in comparison to yours, you could sabotage yourself. I would definitely look into that unreasonable 1 pound margin stuff. Sounds totally unreasonable .

Post op eating
Good call. Try to relax and not worry too much. It's always advised to contact your doc when you need definitive answers. The fist few days always works on the nerves a little. Here's hoping it's nothing to be concerned about.

Vegetables (not protein) first
I try to keep my "Mantras" simple...... Before surgery (and most of my adult life) it was - "life is uncertain - Eat dessert first" (wow, big surprise, huh) Now after surgery it's - "Protein first" Why ??? Because it seems mother nature in her continued effort to make my life a joke has decided to go after whatever little muscle I may have instead of the mountains of fat I want to get rid of........and protein is supposed to help prevent that. So, in attempting to get in anywhere close to the amount of protein needed to help provide nourishment to my delicate remaining muscles, while only able to fit in 3-4 ounces of food......well....you do the math.

Post op eating
Hmmmmm, five days huh..... And thats all you've noticed ?? Relax....probably just gas. Or could be a "full" trigger. Or you bod just letting you know it's pissed off you did all that trama to it...... You're gonna notice alot of different noises, aches, various pains etc. for awhile as you heal and adjust. Unless it persists or gets worse, just give it time and it will probably pass.

Isopure clear protein drinks
I have yet to find any supplements that taste like the flavor or the picture on the label........drink or power bar. That being said, I do use the Quest bars (mostly cookies-n-cream) and the Isopure drinks (glass bottles). I primarily use the drinks when I go to the gym and put them in my Water bottle with alot of ice. I'm usually so thirsty, I guzzle them without paying much attention to the taste. Still there are only a few I can tolerate. The Apple melon, the fruit punch, etc. You'll just have to try each flavor. Sometimes I just have to cut them 50% with water which helps with the taste. As you said, it's still 20 grams of Protein, which is great.

Guys using protein products
@@TEXASLADY52 said: I cannot tolerate the sweet and I have never liked sweet drinks. Even the Greek Yogurt has tons of sugar in it. What I found is: Genepro http://www.musclegen.net/ .... this is oderless and tasteless and does not clump. You can add it to hot or cold....or just sprinkle over your food. This stuff is great. One tablespoon equals a scoop of whey and has 30 grams of Protein. It is approved by John Hopkins and has 96% absorbtion. You can also order it from Amazon. I fix a Crystal Light and a scoop. I understand you can contact the website and they will send you a sample? ______________________________________________________________________________ note: Ok, women, this is a "guys" thread and /or question please. So unless you're trying out for women's bodybuilding championships, how it works with you is not what I'm looking for......but thanks anyway. Saw this in another thread and it really impressed me. Have any of you "Men" used this product and if you have, what is your take on it? Results ?? Does it have any medical warnings or restrictions? What about side effects? Taste? etc.etc. Companies are always making outrageous claims and rarely deliver. Although the original poster of this product does tout it's desirability, she is female and I do believe men and women have vastly different guidelines and goals when it comes to supplements, workouts and body muscle etc. Additionally if you haven't used this particular product but are using a different one that provides substantial protein gains with similar properties.....please speak up and let us know.

Aversion to sweet protein drinks
Loser2014 said: Aversion to sweet Protein drinks I know what you mean. I used to really enjoy a little tea with a tall glass of sugar. Now I make tea in pot at about half strength and then dilute it another 50% with Water and then trickle it over a full glass of ice cubes...even further diluting it. And NO sugar or sweetners. Ahhhh - perfect .....still even tastes sweet. Go figure. Same thing goes for sugar free popcicles. The artificial sweeteners they use are just too sweet. So I make my own with strawberries, bananas and blueberries blended and cut alot with water, then frozen in popcicle molds. Strangely with no sweeteners added, I prefer the more tart taste. So, no complaints here. I'm liking the benefit of this new sugar free me. Oh yeah.......about the Protein Drinks.....I use Isopure Zero carb (40g protein) but I have to cut them in half with water just to make them palatable.

Protein powder Sample suggestions?
My suggestion is don't bother. Wait until after the surgery. Your taste will most likely change. No sense wasting alot of money on stuff you may not like afterwards. I know the desire is to get ready now, but it's really not necessary.

What causes weight gain after sleeve surgery?
What causes weight gain after sleeve surgery? The exact same things that cause it before surgery. Too much food and no exercise. The surgery is only gonna give you a helpful tool to limit you intake. The rest is up to you. You have to change all your eating habits and get you bod moving. Yeah, yeah, yeah.....I know....you dieted and exercised before. Really, you gonna stick with that story. The surgery is your chance to get it right. Eating small portions require you eat the correct nutritional food or you will become weak and tired. Eat too much and it will hurt. As you adjust to the new eating guidelines and begin losing weight, you'll gain the energy to exercise and workout and do all the things you've been missing. Then over time, these new guidelines will develop into new lifestyle habits which will stay with you when you reach your goals. So in the end........you won't overeat the wrong foods and sit around on your ass doing nothing and gaining weight. -

How do you know or keep track of your protein when you're not even eating half a serving?
Past that stage..... cute..... You're gonna need all the protein you can get in to avoid muscle loss and maintain energy. Sure, eat as much protein as you can in food, but supplements are very necessary. Always.

Three week slump
I lost count........relax.....they come and go and you will continue to lose...

Protein
If you use a sieve to remove the clumps......well then, you've basically removed the whey protein as well. Another little tidbit about when whey is heated..... it destroys the whey protein in the process, thus rendering it useless. I just avoid using it at all when warming or heating food or liquids.

How do you set your Calorie Target?
I have found that it's more about not allowing the body to get used to any exact limits.....due to it's ability to adapt. If you eat too little the metabolism will slow down to prevent loss. Eat too much for a lengthy period and you will gain. I eat more (with concentration on protein), on the days I go to the gym. Then I abruptly throw in a day of minimals, but still keep the Protein up (add in some additional protein supplements) I figure it keeps the bod from getting used to any one routine. However for a baseline that provides me plenty of nourishment for exercise and still keeps the weight coming off, I try to stay around 800-1000 calories a day and as much over 100 grams of protein as I can get in. As time goes on, stalls will become more prevelant and the weight loss will slow regardless of intake, Just don't get discouraged. As long as you continue to stick to your guidelines, the stalls will break and the losses will continue.

Protein
I was all ready to start adding unflavored powdered whey to everything and then I noticed that it was getting really clumpy and sticking together when used in Hot drinks or cooked in food. Also, one scoop doesn't sound like much but when you're only eating 3-4 ounces.....one scoop is alot and does change the consistency or texture of the the food and drinks. So I went to premier Protein. I also agree with you on the strawberry. I only drink the chocolate. Tried the strawberry and vanilla and don't care of either one. I use the Isopure Zero carb flavored drinks as well. 40 grams protein in 20 ounces. But again.....I only care for certain flavors as some of them taste terrible to me. This is from UNJURY's label....- For all unjury flavors, do not use in liquids hotter than 140º F. Proteins, when heated, change texture. For example, you have seen an egg white go from a clear gel, to firm white, when cooked. For UNJURY, in a hot liquid, the proteins tend to clump. If anyone knows of any tricks to avoid the clumping when mixed with hot items.....please advise. More Protein options are always desired.
