  3. This morning is my 2 week post op check up and I've lost 18 lbs!!!! The nurse said the average is between 10-20 so I'm at the high end of loss so I'm super pumped!! Waiting to see my doctor now!!

  5. Thank you so much that gives me peace of mind!!
  6. I am on day 4 post op and I am soo happy to say I am eating cream of wheat (loving that) and jello and Popsicles and some of the protein shake frozen. I've not had any nausea but I'm still having a lot of I guess gas pain in my stomach it's self when I drink water. Also having hunger or what feels like hunger wondering if my PPI isn't strong enough. Took Milk of Magnesia one time at doctors orders and am determined to never take that retched medicine again. Going to try light yogurt in the morning. It's so strange thinking of foods I've eaten my whole like as being "something new and exotic to try" lol.
  7. Wow I asked my doctor and he was really vague said he doesn't like to put a lot of restrictions on his patients but I'm just a bit scared to do something too early and hurt myself. I've told my partner that I will see how I feel at 2 weeks out.
  8. I was just wondering how long did other women wait after surgery to engage in sex?

  11. Thanks for the suggestion!! I can't even stand the thought of the shake from my doctor. I'm 3 days post op and the only "food" I've had is a few oz of thinned cream of wheat so not much if any protein. I went online and ordered 2 flavors and am hoping once those come in they can be a good way to try to get my protein or at least some of it. I'm experiencing a lot of gas pain in my stomach despite taking gas-x every day even with just consuming water. Any ideas?

  13. I have BCBS of TX and the hospital made me pay $2150 before they would go any further. Doctors office hasn't given me any ideas on how much Doctor's portion will be also had to give the anesthesiologist a $250 deposit. I was willing to do whatever it took to have this surgery. I had to take a loan and borrow money from family but I got what I needed up front and now it's done so guess ill see what happens when the bills start rolling in.
  14. Thank you how much did it cost?
  15. I just had my surgery yesterday and thankfully my insurance didn't require a lengthy pre-diet but I did have to pay $2150 to the hospital before they would register me. I had bout half of that and I got a personal loan to cover the rest. I likewise have not blasted it for all to know. A few close friends, my boss who is like a friend and certain family members know. I'm sure I will get alot of questions once I start loosing weight and at that point I'll tell those who ask.

  18. I am very curious about this as well. I am one day out and I could see how a rap would be nice. I've had a pillow that I've kept on my stomach to help relieve the pain but can't walk around with a pillow lol.
  19. Thank y'all for the encouragement, it's so great to hear from others post-op. It did indeed go well just dealing with the pain right now but the pain pump is a huge help. Not sure if my body is just not needing or can't handle anything but haven't been able to eat more than 1 1/2 oz of shaved Popsicle. Water and ice chips are fine just nothing with any flavoring. I know that even before the surgery I had been experiences with flavored liquids tearing me up and causing dumping. How long did it take y'all to be able to eat jello or broth or Popsicles? I can't even stand the thought of one of the shakes from the clinic.
  20. I am in my room waiting for them to take me into surgery. I'm excited and very nervous, this is a big step but I'm ready for the change.
