    Dr. Malley did my surgery- he does ask that you follow a liquid high protein diet for two weeks prior to surgery to shrink your liver-- if you don't follow instructions you cannot expect for everything to be perfect-- I'm sure he tried as hard as he could to band you but if the liver is too large it is virtually inpossible to see the area of the stomach he needs to see to safely do the procedure. I feel bad for you but make this a lesson to follow instructions --they don't ask things of you to just make it hard on you-- it is for your safelty..

  2. Tests right before surgery?

    Have you had your preop workup already? If so they will probably do a pregnancy test to make sure you are not PG. If you have not had any preop tests done yet they will do a whole blood profile, EKG, and pregnancy test.
