  1. Congrats on your decision to have the band! I had a fabulous experience at Good Sam and all of my nurses in the hospital were wonderful. Suggestions: Get up and walk as soon as you can. I did notice that some nurses had more experience than others on what lap band patients should be drinking. Stick with sips out of medicine cups of 1/2 water and 1/2 juice. Popsicles work well too. I have not been to any support groups as I was banded April 3,2007 and they do not start till August but I plan to be there in August. Are you from Cincinnati? I am glad to finally meet someone who is going thru this with the same doctor! Best of luck to you! Let me know how you do! Need anything I will do my best to answer any questions!
  2. I was banded on April 3nd of 2007. I have lost 40lbs and had 1 fill so far. Need to make an appointment for a second fill! Very glad I made the choice to have the lap band. It has been wonderful!
  3. WOW! It is great to see so many from Cincinnati. I live in Anderson Twp. on the east side of Cincy. I had my surgery with Dr. Kerlakian at Good Sam on April 3nd 2007. I have lost 40 lbs and am feeling good but hope not to fall into a rut. Look forward to hearing about all of our banded success stories!
  4. I live in Cincinnati but went to BGSU! Miss those days! Good luck to you!
  5. Hi Janelle~ I did not go through Jewish but I did have the band placed on April 3, 2007. I was banded by Dr. George Kerlakian at Good Samaritan Hospital. I had a wonderful, fabulous experience. I would highly recommend him and his team. I live on the east side of Cincinnati. Glad to see someone that is close to home. I have just joined this site. I went right to the OH page. Hope to keep in touch! Kara
