  1. Do you have other medication for nausea? My doc gave me the patches to put behind my ear. You change it every 3 days. Works very well. I also have Zofran liquid, another anti nausea medicine. I had surgery on March 12th and I'm still using these meds to combat nausea.
  2. My surgery was March 12 and yes, I still have pain! I have trouble getting in and out of bed or just from a sitting to standing position. The pain for me is in the area of the stomach. I have a friend who had surgery the same day and he says his pain is gone. I don't think you can compare to other people really. I think everyone heals on a different schedule. I also had a hernia repaired at the same time as the sleeve. Hang in there!!
  3. Thanks you guys! I have spoken to my physician about it. They say that everyone heals differently and for me to remember it's a major surgery and it will take a while to recover. I'll just keep walking and taking pain meds as needed until I get completely better I guess.
  4. My surgery was March 12. I've done pretty well, had tons of gas and constipation during that first week. Overall, I have been feeling pretty good except for the pain I have under/at the site for the stomach incision. It hurts so bad when I turn or move certain ways. I have a very difficult time getting myself up from a laying down position in the bed. I am just wondering how long this pain will last? I just keep thinking it should be gone by now. I wear a compression wrap thing when I sleep at night to provide support, but that even with that, I still have pain when I move certain ways. Does this pain happen for most people for so long? Any advice or ideas are appreciated!! Thanks!
  5. I am 4 days post op and I still have a tremendous amount of gas in my abdomen. I have been walking around as was recommended and I also have used the GasX strips. The gas is still there. Do any of you know of any other ways to get that gas to work itself out? My whole tummy area looks swollen from the gas. Thanks for any advice you might have!
  6. I have read on the forums for about 6 months now as I have completed all the requirements for my insurance approval. I'm 46 and have struggled with my weight my entire life. I've been able to keep it under control ~ maintaining with exercise and dieting for most of my life. I've never been thin though always carried at least 20 extra pounds. So, in 2010, I suffered an aortic dissection. After the recovery from that, my weight has ballooned. I am restricted from all cardio exercise (I used to run). I cannot lift weights ever because it causes stress to my aortic graft. I can only walk. My heart rate cannot go above 115. These restrictions have completely screwed up my ability to lose the weight and to maintain. I began to consider surgery. I read tons about it and decided that it would be the best tool I could use to get my weight under control. I am miserable being this heavy. I am hoping that the sleeve will be my miracle tool. I found out that I am approved today. That's after being denied and then the appeal went through. I'm scheduled for March 13th surgery. I'm getting a little stressed about it but overall, just want to get the surgery done and get started with my life again!!
