    When I spoke to an insurance specialist, she stated that bcbs instated a 5000 copay in 2011 for all weight loss surgeries. She said some doctors waive this. I was just wondering if this happened in your case. For me, it would mean paying 6-7000 versus 1000 for the surgery! Big difference!!

    I have bcbs Texas. I've already met my deductible and have met $800 of my $2000 out of pocket maximum. For my specific insurance plan, there is a $5000 doctor copayment for the gastric sleeve procedure. I was told that some doctors waive this??? Anyone have this happen for them? Anyone know of any surgeons who do this in the Dallas area? Thanks!!!
