The car is packed and we are on the road. My surgery is in Bridgeton MO. I am scheduled for 10:30 AM and hopefully there are no delays. I am excited to finally be at this point. My starting weight in Jan was 373 and today I am at 343.
I have been on my diet for 8 days. I get 5- protein shakes a day and the rest are clear liquids. First few days sucked. I then went to not being hungry and hard time being able to get just the shakes in. Today 4 days before surgery and I'm starving!!! I cheated tonight and ate a piece of grilled chicken and guess what....STILL STARVING! I have drank my shakes, broth, tea, water and sf drinks. I just don't get it!
I am currently going to WW and get sleeved Monday. I plan to attend my meetings and continue trying. I did let my leader know about the surgery and feel she judged me tonight. I earned my 25 lb charm and felt she acted different because I lost a lot this past week on my liquid diet.
I am using Atkins Advantage ready to drink. They have 1 net carb, 1g sugar, 15g protein. They lowered my humalog from 30u to 15. My norm is 150-250 and yesterday I ran 100-127 all day. I am on day 3 of liquid diet.
I will have surgery May 13th and plan to return to work after two weeks. Is this a realistic goal or should I expect to be out longer? I run a nursing home and sit at a desk all day. There wouldn't be any lifting.
I am really confused on what I can have on my two week pre op liquid diet. I have heard potatoes are fine and then no they are not. The list from the doctor really didn't go into much detail on what I could have other than no less than 5 protein shakes a day.
