  1. Okay I'm a week post op and I'm on the full liquid phase for another ten days. Besides protein shakes & strained soups and broths, what did you all eat in this stage? I need some variety
  2. I met a couple times with Dr. Kirk, but my insurance ended up denying me. So, last week I traveled south and had my surgery with Dr Garcia in Mexico. So far so good

I enjoy that I don't snore anymore and that I get a great night's sleep. I was just sleeved on Monday, and I'm in no big hurry to lose my cpap.
  4. I had a lot of nausea yesterday and vomited up blood several times. The doctor said this was normal. As far as pain, there has been some, but it's not bad at all. My gas pains have been minimal. I can't complain. I'm walking every hour. It definitely helps with my nausea.
  5. Dr. Garcia performed my surgery yesterday. Everything went great.
  6. I'm so frustrated and upset right now. I made it to Tijuana safely a few hours ago. The plane ride and everything else went great. Throughout the day, however, my foot has been getting more and more sore. I know the signs well-I'm having a gout flare up. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning with Dr. Garcia. Now I don't know what's going to happen. More than likely, I'll be in a lot of pain and will have difficulty waking. I wonder if he will cancel my surgery? I hope not. Hopefully he can give me something to treat the gout. Here in the U.S. I would probably get prednisone. Not sure if there is anything he can do for me here. I feel so defeated right now. (Sorry. I just needed to vent.)
  7. Hey all. I'm having my surgery on Monday. I'll be on a liquid diet for awhile after. Do any of you have suggestions for improving the flavor of broth post op? Is there anything I can safely add to make it more palatable?
  8. Good luck. I hope everything goes well for you. I'll be flying in on Sunday afternoon for my surgery on Monday.
  9. I got mine this week too. I ordered six cases.
  10. I'm going with Dr. Fernando Garcia
  11. Sorry you were denied. It's a terrible feeling . I went through it last fall. Ultimately I've decided to go to Mexico. I'm flying out Sunday. Good luck to you. .
  12. Hey everybody. .. One week away.
  13. You really have been all over the state I lived in Stillwater for five years and Bartlesville for two years, but I ended up back here around Mcalester where I grew up. It's nice to meet you, and good luck to you on your surgery!
  14. How exciting for you. I wish I could have had this procedure when I was your age. Best wishes
  15. Hey Savanna, that's cool. Maybe we'll see each other at the Marriot? I'm coming in on Sunday the 17th. I'm from Southeastern Oklahoma - Mcalester. What about you?
  16. Prayers headed your way. I'll be there in a little less than two weeks (with my mom as my companion), and I would love to hear how everything goes for you and your mom.
  17. Hey lexysdad, maybe I'll see you there. I'm having surgery that day at Mi Doctor, but I have a different surgeon. And you're right about the commercials. good thing I can ff through most of them with my dvr.
  18. Hey all, I'm having my surgery on the 18th too. I'm glad to find the support here. Okieathart, I'm also from Oklahoma, but I'm traveling to Mexico for my surgery. Today is the second day of my preop diet. It hasn't been too bad so far. There was a surprise party with cupcakes at work today, and I survived without cheating. I can do this!

Okay. I have this app on my phone, and I guess the emoticons just don't show up. So, I'm glad you explained (and the wacko too). There for a while I was thinking there were some really rude people around here. Haha

Okay, I've just got to ask, what does this mean when I see it in posts? I work around teenagers all day, so when I see the term "rollseyes" I automatically think it's a term of annoyance and disrespect. But, I've been seeing people use it quite often around here. And I can't quite figure out the context.
