  1. Found a good protein source if you like shrimp. In shopping yesterday, I realized that not all shrimp have the same protein content. I found a cheap bag of small shrimp at Walmart (3oz=21 g of protein). Other shrimp were at 14-18 grams of protein. So if you like shrimp, the Walmart brand helps get the protein in. :-)
  2. I am walking on my treadmill for 30 minutes. Still have some pain due to doing things the doctor told me not to do. I am thinking about getting a elliptical machine when all the pain goes away.
  3. Even though I'm stalled, I still notice that my clothes are looser :-)
  4. I'm 4 weeks out and have stalled for about a week, what have you done to help get the scale moving again?
  5. 12/26/12 surgery and down 30 pounds. :-)
  6. My doctor has me on Prilosec and I have not had reflux since surgery, I also had a hitas hernia repaired which also helped.
  7. I am almost 4 weeks out and just started regular food. I have found that tuna with lemon and mustard (made real soft) tastes good and has a lot of protein. When it was dry it felt like it got stuck.... I also had salmon, which was too dry and I could only eat an ounce. One day at about 3 weeks I was really tired and had about a third of a 5 hour energy drink and was very energetic (it has a lot of b vitamins). I struggle with trying to get 90 grams of protein a day, but tell myself tomorrow is another day to try again. I also noticed the less calories I get, the less weight I lose. I really try for the. 600, but fail almost every day. I'm not hungry at all, but set reminders on my phone to eat and it helps. We are all here for you, just remember each day is a new opportunity to try again. You may also want to use an app called my fitness pal, it helps me challenge myself to get the protein and calories I need.
  8. Amazing! You look great and seem to have been able to do some awesome things too!
  9. I hope you feel better soon, just make sure you follow your doctors orders. About a week after the surgery I mopped my floors and pulled something in my stomach. That caused me pain for a week or so. I did have pain, since I had a hernia repair, I also had horrible shoulder pain. But I'm down 30 pounds since 12/26/12, and realize it was all worth it. Hang in there it gets better I promise.
  10. Congratulations on your decision. I am close to your age and at a similar weight with a 13 year old. I had my surgery on December 26th and have almost lost 30 pounds. It is a life changing experience, and will be a challenge at first. You will be happy with the surgery, keep me posted on your progress. :-)
  11. I had my surgery on 12/26/12 and have also had a hard time regulating my temperature. I will be really cold and then really hot.... My husband told me that the surgery put me into early menopause. I am glad to know it is a normal response to the surgery.
  12. I am 3 weeks post op and I feel it was the best decision for me, I have already list 25 pounds and feel pretty good. My doctor repaired my hernia at the same time and it is amazing to not have had heartburn in 3 weeks. I am still healing and should get to start eating regular food next week. One side effect that I didn't expect, is that I am not hungry at all and really gave not craved much food. I have to plan to drink my protein shakes and try really hard to get all the liquids in my system. Good luck!
  13. I live in Stockton and used Dr. Cirangle for my vsg on December 26th. I also had a hiatus hernia repaired. I would highly recommend him, he has a lot if experience and I am doing very well post op. so far I have lost 25 pounds:-) My surgery was at John muir in Concord and the hospital staff was amazing.
