  1. I also had a lot more discomfort than I thought and was sleeved on the 23rd. I really do not understand this stomach at all! I often get that gurgling sound/feeling and have no idea what it means. I keep drinking water and am working on protein shakes. I got a half of one down yesterday and a couple Popsicles. It's all hard but getting better every day.
  2. I am very impressed with everyone who is able to post shortly after their surgery! I could barely stay awake long enough to get my vitals taken! I was sleeved Wednesday. Had a really rough night as my narcotic pump made me sick but once they switched painkillers I was doing much better! I'm home now and doing ok. Getting more fluids in all the time. Everyone is right, it gets better every day.
  3. I should be sleeping now since I have to get up at like 4:00 in the morning but I can't! I'm not nervous about the surgery itself but the pain after and trying to eat has me pretty nervous. Ah!!
  4. Yay! See you on the other side!
  5. I'm tomorrow morning too! Gotta be at the hospital at 5:30 with surgery at 7:30. I can't wait to join everyone on the loser's bench!!
  6. I agree with everyone! This is all so hard! I want anything but the shakes, sf jello, decaf coffee/tea and broth I've been eating. I also agree that hot stuff is a saving grace! It's gonna be so much better afterwards when I'm not hungry so much of the time!
  7. I've had a couple of oyster crackers here and there and ate the broth of French onion soup (maybe a few onions snuck in). But aside from that I've shocked myself with how I've complied with the pre-op diet. Although I do have a couple of days left!
  8. I'm nervous about how I'm gonna do after surgery Wednesday when I'm already soooo sick if protein shakes, broth and sf jello! I just want meat! Lol I can't believe surgery is just a few days away...starting to get nervous.
  9. I'm getting sleeved on Wednesday the 23rd. Today was day four of the liquid diet and it was much better than the first 3 days. I can't wait to get to surgery!
  10. Today was my first day and in really happy to hear it gets better. Today wasn't terrible but I was really tired and got a bit irritable by the end of the day. It's so nice to have this forum to go to and know that others are going through the same thing!
  11. Hi, I'm Betsy. I've been lurking around the site for a few weeks now and thought now that I'm on the forum on my computer instead of my phone, I'd add an intro and update pics, etc. So I'm 32 years old and finally decided I've had enough of this unhealthy body and lifestyle and everything that comes with it. I am very excited to start this process but naturally also a bit nervous. I am so happy to have found this forum as it has been so helpful in my prep for the surgery.
  12. I had to meet with someone in behavioral health and honestly, it was one of the best things for me in this process. I had a lot if emotional eating issues and just eating out of boredom. I think had I not gone thru that process I may not have established the strategies I have not to overcome those issues. I feel much more confident that I can lose weight and keep it off rather than gaining it all back a way down the road. But that's just me . All this being said, part if me hopes that my stomach just can't tolerate the bad stuff after this so the temptation is lessened!
  13. It's so exciting to hear the follow-up from everyone who has been sleeved recently! Makes me even more exited for mine. I can't believe that I'm only two weeks away!! I am a little worried because everyone around me has been sick and I have a sore throat. Really don't want to get sick this close to surgery. Also, I have been nesting like crazy too! Cleaning like a madwoman and making sure everything is in it's place. I just don't want any extra stress when it comes to surgery and recovery.
  14. Good luck to everyone going this week! I can't wait for the 23rd to get here for my turn. Although I am anxious with trying to prepare for the liquid diet I start on the 16th and that part if things. The actual surgery doesn't have me worried but everything else does! Lol
  15. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has fallen into the "one last time" hole with eating before surgery. I have put on about 5 lbs since November...not good!
  16. I start my preop diet on January 16! I'm having my surgery in Duluth, MN.
  17. Hi all! I'm new to the forum and am having my surgery January 23. I'm excited but also a bit overwhelmed with all the diet (liquid, puréed foods, soft foods, etc) stuff to figure out!
