yes that is common i was banded on 6/21/07 and i am down 40 pounds now its only been two months. within my first two weeks i lost like 17 pounds. so keep up the good work and my advice to you is to walk a lot. i go to the gym 5 days a week and work out i met with a trainer and he guided me i loose between 2 to 3 pounds a week. good luck

HELLO ALL, I WAS BANDED ON 6/21/07 SO FAR I'VE LOST 29 POUNDS, I JUST GOT A FILL ON MONDAY 7/23/07 - MY FIRST FILL. I HAVE A 5 CC BAND AND MY DOCTOR PUT 1.5 CC FILL IN FOR MY FIRST FILL. SINCE THEN HE TOLD ME TO STAY A FULL LIQUID DIET FOR 3 DAYS THEN START THE SOFT FOOD. I'VE BEEN DOING THAT BUT SINCE THEN I HAVE ACCUMALATED GAS. IT FEEL LIKE WHEN I GOT MY SURGERY THE PAIN IS IN THE LEFT SHOULDER AND I'M CONSTANTLY BURPING A LOT. I CALLED MY DOCTOR AND THE NURSE TOLD ME TO DRINK BROTH AND TAKE TUMS. I FEEL RESTRICTED WHEN I DRINK WATER BUT NOT MY PROTEIN DRINK. IS THAT COMMON TO HAVE GAS AND BURPING ALL DAY!:confused::grouphug:

thanks jacqui, i feel much better cause last night i at some mashed potatoes and that contatins a lot of calories but i have not even reached 1,000 calories yet i'm just starting soft foods but i'm down 20+ pounds from when i started. nyree

Hi Everyone, I Was Just Banded On 6/21/07. Now My Doctor Office Gave Me A List Of Food Of What I Should Eat And All That Good Stuff And How Much To Eat. On The Other Hand My Nutrionists Gave Me The Same But My Nutritionists Says My Doctor List Hardly Have Me Getting Any Protein. I Should Be Receiving At Least 40-60 Grams Of Protein A Day. Witht The Little Food I Eat Some Where During The Day I Always Have Me A Shake. My Doctor Office Says I Should Be On A 1,000 Calorie Diet But My Nutrionist Says I Should Be On A 800 Calorie Diet However It Works I Keep Up With My Calories. Since My Nutrionists Told Me About The Protein Thing, I'm Doing Ok.

Ms. D, I'm loosing weight very well, its just my eating, i go for a fill on 7/23/07 my first fill. i do feel hungry at times but i manage to eat but i know what i'm eating is not enough of protein so i do have me a protein shake at least once a day

no problem, but are you having the same problem scared to eat and when you do its just enough to quinch your hunger and lasts for 3 hours until its time to eat again

Hello everyone, I just got banned on 6/21/07, i'm feeling fine, I'M ON SOFT FOODS BUT I AM KIND OF SCARED TO EAT CAUSE I DONT WANT TO THROW UP. ITS LIKE WHEN I CHEW AND THEN SWALLOW I'M BASICALLY NOT SWALLOWING NOTHING. AND I EAT UNTIL I FEEL MY HUNGER IS GONE NOT FULL. BUT I DRINK A LOT OF FLUIDS AND I STILL HAVE A Protein shake DURING THE DAY. I STARTED OUT AT 220 NOW I'M DOWN TO 194. I WALK EVERYDAY FOR 45 MINS. Done! Your Ticker:

How much weight will i lose from the day i get my surgery until my two week date to get my fill? my surgery date is coming up on 6/21/07. do everybody get a fill two weeks after they surgery?

but when your doctor office called you they should have given you a surgery date then. but call your surgeon and see my date is 6/21/07, i nervous like hell

well for me i know i went to the doctor the surgeon on may 7th and on my birthday may 17th the doctor office called me and told me i was approved and gave me my surgery date...well actually before i got to see the doctor i had to go thru my six consectitive visits with the nutrutionist and see the psych doctor and get my referal letter from my primary care physician and once my surgeon got all that he then seen me and like a couple of days later the admissions office from the hospital called me before the surgeon called me telling me my surgery date and i called the surgeon office and they told me they were still submitting it through my insurance and like two days later they called me and sure enough told me i was approved. i had asked why did the admissions office called me first and they said its protocol for when they are submitting to the insurance and i have state insurance from husky b.

Thank You Everybody, But I Have A Question From The Day You Get Your Surgery And Go Back To The Doctor For Your Fill How Much Weight Did You Guys Loose Thats Already Banded. Cause I'm Under The Assumption That After I Have My Surgery My Doctor Told Me I Will Come Back Two Weeks Later And Get Filled. So I'm Just Wondering How Much Weight Any Body Lost Within The First Two Weeks.

Hello, I'm very excited today. Today is my birthday and i got the best birthday wish every. I recieved a call from my surgeon office today letting me i have been approved by my insurance for the surgery!! My surgery date is 6/21/07 in Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Ct. my doctor is Kurt Roberts. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I have an appointment with the anasteseolgist and the nurse to do blook work on 6/14 and i have a physical with the surgeon on 6/18. It didnt take long for my insurance to approve me. I went to the doctor last Monday and met with the surgeon and they called me today. I guess I am on my way.
