  2. kendra thanks so much for the info!. I totally agree that it should come out during the surgery! One time under is best !!
  3. My NUt told me(pre op), that turkey bacon is a no from the standpoint of health reasons, not sleeve reasons. she said it has too many nitrates, and some have red dye. Just fyi:)
  4. I just got home from mine about 2 hours ago. I really did not have any pain.. She made me turn etc, and def. spent some time in the rib area(for a liver/), but it was not even uncomfortable for me. Bad news is that when I had my hysterectomy, they did not take my gallbladder. My dt. said he would take it out when he does my sleeve..Wonder if that will prolong recovery? Anyway, so sorry you are in pain...I cannot belive how many screenings we have to have prior to even being approved!! even with indsurance these add up!!

  6. Prob depends on how strict your Dr. is. i have been told that my Dr. is VERY strict. we even have to take a test prior to surgery on all we have learned, and post op requirements. I would do protein and shakes the rest of the week, and water..Good luck:)

  8. Very happy to have some new support buddies!! We can help each other thru this experience, and it will be interesting ride I think!! I am really starting today implementing some of the suggestions from the NUT I attended today. She mentioned to start using a salad plate at this point, to help adjust to the much smaller amount of food we will be able to eat after surgery. Also as i am a nurse who works at night, I was worried about the no caffeine, esp. so far prior to surgery, I am going to start doing half caf and half decaf, instead of all decaf. So baby steps..

  10. Hi, i am new on my journey also. I have meet with NUT, been to seminalr, had first part of Psych eval, meet with Surgeon. I am praying for a may date. I have a low BMI, and cannot lose weight. or I will be out.I do have High BP, and high cholesterol. I am just tired of being heavy, and as a nurse I am scared of diabetes and the cardiac issues my family has. Since we are both new, hoping we can encourage each other here!!!
