    Why Lie?!?!

@boofster Too funny! I had something I'd like to stick with, or should I say somewhere, my size 9 right up her behind!

    Why Lie?!?!

How about today a co-worker asked me I was losing weight...then goes on to ask what am I doing! I changed my diet and am exercising. Think that was the end of it...that would have been too easy. Her next question "Are you going to stick with it?" WTF? This is exactly what I mean. How the hell is this any of her concern. She's not outside asking the smokers to when they are going to quit. My point is obesity in my opinion will never be considered a legitimate health condition like, diabetes, cancer, etc. Any medical/surgical intervention for it will represent the easy way out for most. We who have taken the step toward health and the providers that treat us KNOW that this is not a easy journey and not one we've entered into lightly.

    Why Lie?!?!

I have wondered what I would say to the people who ask but based on the reaction of the select few people I have shared with, I think I will keep my surgery private. Am I ashamed? No, this by far will be the hardest thing I have done to lose weight. I have been a yo-yo dieter all my adult life. If no one asked me what I was doing to gain the 100lbs. I have to lose, why should they be privy as to how I lost it? It is MY personal business to share or not. Why invite other's judgement of your decision Into your life? Who needs that added pressure? Everyone handles things they way they think is best for them, and no one should be judged on how they choose to respond to someone's inquiry into their personal business. I'm just saying.
  7. Do you think your "last meal" will taste as good as you will feel after you are sleeved and losing weight? One of the reason's my surgeon requires the two week liquid diet is that how well you do on it ultimately factors into how successful you'll be afterwards. Tonight was my opportunity for that "last" meal. I really wanted to splurge but knew that it would be counterproductive. I figured that this decision is the first of many steps toward my new beginning. So a small Soup, salad and Vitamin Water it was! My first victory! I have no fairy tell ideas that these two weeks will be easy but I will take it one day, one bite at a time. Hold on, you can make it!
  8. We are all human and this is a hard journey. Don't get discouraged...you can.. WE..can do it! I start my pre op diet in two days and will be sleeved on the 28th.
