  1. Hotty Toddy Gosh Almighty, Who the hell are we? Flim, Flam, Bim, Bam... OLE MISS by damn!!! Here's a thread that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the band! This is the fun thread! Post your hobbies! Bitch about your co-workers! Or talk about... :cheer2: COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!! :cheer2: It's time!! It's time!! It's time!!! I LIVE FOR COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!! Especially the SEC!!!! Specifically OLE MISS!!! Hotty Toddy!!! Hotty Toddy!!! Hotty Toddy!!!! So my question is ARE YOU READY??? :whoo::clap2::bounce::rockon::whip::first::pop2:
  2. Well aren't you just the sweetest thing! Thank you so much! I love Dr. C too (but don't tell him that!)...lol.. being colleagues, we tend to give each other a hard time! lol... :heh:
  3. I remember you! lol... I work in the Recovery Room at River Oaks, and you were the 1st band patient to roll through after I got back from recovering from MY band! Dr. Carroll did mine as well on June 1 at River Oaks. Glad to hear from you! Great weight loss!!
  4. Sorry grateful, I had you down as 6/21. June 2007 Bandster Calender.doc
  5. Wow, we've grown so fast! Here's an update. Please remember to try to use this thread to only post names and dates for the calender... just because we're so big it's hard for me to keep up... :faint: Thanks!! June 2007 Bandster Calender.doc
  6. I CANNOT wait for my numbers to look like yalls!! First fill will be in 1 1/2 weeks! :clap2:
  7. Hey yall! Another Mississippi bandster! I live in Madison.
  8. I agree. I pretty much only read our thread too. Waiting til late Spring puts our weight loss much higher as well!
  9. I have lived in Vegas and can help with recommendations. I will probably stay with friends when I'm there... I prefer the upper-end places, can't help it, love it, love it, love it... Oh, did I also mention I have a 15k piece of jewelry around my stomach that you can't even see?
  10. My first fill is in 13 days and counting! My first appointment was actually 6 days from now but I rescheduled due to vacation next week. I just don't want to be out-of-town and on liquids/softs on my summer vacation!! So, this will be my last hoo-rah before the real journey begins!! (At least that's what I hope!!)
  11. ALL of us are over 1 week out!! How exciting!! June 2007 Bandster Calender.doc
  12. Waters, I've added you to the calender and will repost it soon. I'm sorry you can't open it. It is a Word file. Unfortunately , I can't post the calender itself here anymore. The site doesn't support the format and when I post it it's a jumbled mess. The same happened to the May 2007 calender. But you are there (along with 130+ others!!)
  13. HAZE, you're already on the calender...
  14. There are 130 of us!! June 2007 Bandster Calender.doc
  15. Janine, Glad to know I have someone on the exact leg of my journey! We will run to the restroom with the "deer in headlights" together!! lol
  16. :whoo::heh::clap2::cool::rolleyes::hungry::bandit:o:kiss2::bored June 2007 Bandster Calender.doc
  17. I saw my doc in the OR again today, so I got to cancel my appt for this Thursday. (It's sooo wonderful that I see him at the hospital every week!!) He told me to call and schedule my first fill to be done at 8 weeks. I called and was going to be out of town, so I scheduled it for 7/23 (which is at 7 1/2 weeks). Then I remembered that after a fill you have to do a couple of days of liquid/mushie stuff, so I rescheduled it for the next monday 7/30. That puts me at just over 8 weeks. I want a fill ASAP... but the thought of going out of town the day after my first fill where I will be attending several group meals and NOT be able to eat anything they are having AGAIN (my last vacation was at 3 wks postop) was OUT OF THE QUESTION!! It scared me a little to be out of the state for the first 5 days after my first fill. Oh well... at least I have a date to look forward to!!
  18. Ange123 you were already on the calender June 2007 Bandster Calender.doc
  19. Thanks for all of your support and honesty! I feel like on the main post everyone is constantly talking about how wonderful the Protein shakes are, and staying under 800 calories a day, and being full off a TINY amount of food... that's just not been my journey thus far! I felt very left out until you all and Toni have also confessed that you're hungry, overeating and scared!!! It is weird that I get full a great deal faster. Like tonight at church we had a 4th of July celebration. I had a hotdog (first thing I've eaten that got stuck a little bit by the way), a handfull of chips, cup of ice cream and piece of cake. Sounds like a lot, but it really wasn't. I feel stuffed!!! That's what is so scary because the full feeling is enormous ("Thanksgiving Day" was a great way to describe it!!) That makes me feel like I massively overate... when before surgery I could have eaten twice that much! I know it's going through the band cause Im drinking a swallowing and all is flowing fine. But I agree, fullness is coming sooner and with a vengenece!! My family just brought over my new treadmill and helped me set it up! I haven't really been exercising at all. I live in Mississippi and it's 100 degrees in the day time and hot and sticky at night. The treadmill is right in front of the tv, so maybe I'll get going!! Tomorrow is another day...
  20. I am so envious of so many of you!!! My doc says complete healing doesn't occur til 8 weeks and won't do a fill til then. He said he knows most do it at 6 but he doesn't recommend it. He hasn't had a slip or any complication in over 3 years, so I trust him completely... however... I'M IN BANDSTER HELL!!!! I have NO restriction. I have a food addiction and have NO restriction. I have not felt nausea or vomited at all. Everything passes through the band just fine. I am able to overeat and don't really realize I have til it's done. In restaurants, I have not had more than 1/2 an entree and box the rest... which is much less than before... but still too much. I live in constant (albeit probably irrational) fear that I am going to hurt my band. I know Toni shared the same feelings. We were banded on the 1st of the month so are at 4 1/2 weeks out. Things change. It's discouraging for me to hear that some of you are full after 2 tablespoons of food. I don't get it! We don't have restriction, so how is that possible? Other than occasional pressure in my chest when I need to burp... I wouldn't know the band was there!! I have to live this way 3 1/2 more weeks. I was a self pay also and can't afford to screw up this band. I want to succeed!! But I have a true food addiction, and I believe breaking that is the same as any other addiction. Food is part of our lives. I feel like I should be locked up til my first fill, cause I don't have the will power. I wouldn't send an alcoholic to a bar after the first week of AA!! I wouldn't want a gambling addict to frequently walk through a casino but trust this time he just won't sit down and cave in! I have no signs of problems, slip, etc. I know I'm fine. I just fill like I'm a ticking time bomb... mostly because I've screwed up weight loss so many times, I just can't accept that I've done something that is actually going to work!! I lost 16 pounds during the week before surgery til 2 weeks after surgery. I have crept up 2 pounds since then and fear it will continue to creep up... I feel like a failure already... Before the journey has even begun. I hope this surgery wasn't a huge mistake and waste of money.
  21. mvr, you were already on there.
  22. There are so many of us! June 2007 Bandster Calender.doc
  23. It's not letting me post the calender in proper form anymore?? So here is the link... it will work just as well... June 2007 Bandster Calender.doc
  24. This thread is specifically for the calender!! If your name is not on the calender, please make a post here with your date in June. Also, if your date changed or your name is spelled wrong, please post that as well! Please only post dates for the calender in this thread! I'm trying to make it a little easier for me to keep up with it!! Thanks!!
  25. This site is about views and opinions, and everyone is entitled to theirs. I guess I can't understand why opinions can't be expressed, and even debated, with kindness. This thread has been anything but supportive to nataliesmommie. I am being banded in 10 days and came here for answers, advice and support. Well, let's just say I'm not exactly feeling the love here! Somebody please wave a white flag!!!! Through complications, successes and failures...We are all in this together! CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?! :think :tired :kiss2: :grouphug: :amen:
