  1. Thank you for your thoughtful & well stated post. I definitely got my sleeve to be normal. I want to get to a healthy weight & be more active. I know making mistakes are part of the process too. I know that I am on program the majority of the time. I certainly will not the same mistake with bread again. That's for sure. I do use My Fitness Pal to track my food. It's a great tool. I know that I will be successful. I am already on the right path & look forward to continuing to a healthy new me.!
  2. Thank you, Laura. You have always been very kind to me & supportive. Thank you.
  3. #1 I have not posted "many" times that I have binged. I have had 2 incidents in the past 90 days. "Many" is a long stretch.#2 I resent the fact that you are completely downplaying your role in this & saying that I am portraying myself as a victim. Only the people who actually saw your first post know what you said. It was hurtful & I told you so. As far as I know that is not passive aggressive . #3 Every time I try to accept one of your apologies you post another inflammatory statement. #4 The fact that you would say that I am attacking you & manipulating others shows that you know absolutely nothing about me. No friend of mine would ever think that. #5 I am D-O-N-E with all of this Like my boyfriend says, "Just because someone invites you to a fight it doesn't mean that you have to show up for it" So, bad mouth me until your heart is content. As for me, I am going to go cuddle up with my Oh So Wise boyfriend & wake up to a fresh start.
  4. Grace, this is getting a bit out of hand now, Don't you think? First you admit (although it was not on purpose) that you came off as "an ass". Your words. Not mine. Now you feel like I am being passive aggressive & targeting you? I addressed my issues with you as far as I'm concerned. Bygones. I am an adult woman who hates negativity & drama. My friends are few, but loyal & trustworthy. (As a side note they are mostly men as I find that women have far too much drama! lol) I just feel like I don't want to be in any form of communication that brings negativity into my life. Period. As you may have seen in my post a few minutes ago I can not delete my profile. I will check the boards periodically & see if I can be of any assistance to others. I will not ask for help, though. This comes not only from your "assessment" of me. Someone else jumped on the bandwagon here when they didn't even know anything about what the discussion had been in a previous post. Really helpful. I directly addressed them as well. I do not feel that I need to justify myself any further. I am headed to bed as I will not let myself lose sleep over this. I harbor no ill will. It does me no good. I think that we will be fine if we just steer clear of each other for awhile. I'm sure that you will agree. Best wishes on your journey.
  5. To the rest of you it appears that I indeed can not delete my account. Those who made me feel the way I do right now were addressed directly. Those of you who encouraged me to stay...thank you. I might lurk around the boards here & there. I will encourage other people if I can, but I will not ask for help here anymore. There are some good people on this site & I appreciate your kind words & input. Well, it almost 3AM on the East Coast. I turned into a pumpkin & need to roll to the bedroom. I don't know who is going to take my dog out.
  6. Who do you think you are? Passive aggressive?! I have never had any interaction with you in the 3 months that I've been on here. I did address the person I had the problem with. I looked under FAQ & didn't find anything. Simply asking for help from people who might be more tech savvy than myself. Nothing more. So, how about you MYOB!
  7. I was always surprised when people would tell me how they were discouraged or other people were unkind to them on this website. I never understood that until today. From now on I am sticking to family & my surgeon's office support groups. Since I am apparently too dumb to figure it out on my own, can someone please tell me how to delete my profile from here? Thanks.
  8. Grace, you were listed as one of my friends on my profile. You certainly could have sent me a private message. I felt a little blindsided. Yes, It was me that posted that I ate 10 chicken nuggets & 1 McDonald's frappe over the course of I believe it was 4-6 hour period. I will be 90 days post-op on Wednesday. I can't believe that no one else has made 2 mistakes days in 90 days. Maybe my mistake was admitting what I did. I also worked in the mental health field for over a dozen years as direct care staff for people living in community resident homes as well as independently in the community. I have worked with schizophrenic, schizoaffective, bipolar, PTSD, suicidal, homicidal...you name it. I am fully aware of mental health services provided. If I feel at some point that I need professional help then I will seek it. For now I am just another sleever learning how this really works, learning how to use food as nutrition and nothing else and testing my sleeve a bit. I think most people do at some point. For now, I will take a break from this website & depend on myself for support. In the end the only person we can ever really count on is ourselves.
  9. Trade you! LOL. I would be fine not having it at all!
  10. I am hoping some of the ladies out there can offer some advice, support or let me know if your body is reacting similar to mine. This all period related. I had my sleeve done November 27th. My regular period ended right before my surgery date. One week post-op I got my period again for 3 straight weeks. I got a reprieve for 2 weeks & then another period for 2 weeks. Another 2 week break and now another period is starting. In case you are counting that is me having my period for 6 weeks out of the 11 weeks post-op and I have no idea when this one will end! I am going absolutely crazy. In 11 weeks I have lost 61 lbs. and gone down from a size 32 pants to a size 26. That is all well & good, but I am tired of having my period. My surgeons office said that this is not abnormal as you lose weight, but I don't know. I have another almost 180 pounds to lose & I can't take it anymore! My poor boyfriend asked me if I was ever going to not be having crazy long & erratic periods anytime soon. lol. Poor guy. Not to be gross, but my periods are SUPER heavy. I am going through boxes of tampons & pads like there is no tomorrow not to mention 6 pairs of ruined underwear, 1 pair of pajama pants, 1 pair of jeans AND a set of sheets! Has anyone else gone through this? Does it ever regulate? Anyone on the pill to help? I'm getting pretty desperate here...
  11. I am a week away from being 3 months post-op. I have had no complications & have been following my program minus my bread incident earlier today. As if Tuesday I am down 61 lbs. The past few weeks every time that I get on the scale I am super happy...for about 10 minutes. Then I start getting anxiety & feeling depressed. I don't know why. At my surgeon's office visit last week they said that I am right on track with what they expect in regards to weight loss. I have been losing weight regularly. I am down 3 sizes & don't have to shop online anymore. I have so much more energy. So, why the anxiety & depression? Anyone else feeling like this?
  12. I am a week away from being 3 months Post-op. I have stuck to my NUT recommendations pretty closely. Today I was immersed in homework. Before I realized it 3pm & I hadn't eaten anything & I didn't have anything in the house. I decided to order a salad to be delivered from my local Italian place. Last minute I added on garlic bread with mozzarella & a side of sauce. My delivery came. I put the salad in the fridge & went to town on the garlic bread. This is the 1st time that I've had bread since surgery. I ate 4 pieces of bread dipped in sauce. I immediately felt like my sleeve was super tight & yucky so, I tried to drink a few sips of water. It was like I could feel the water sitting in my chest. Shortly after I threw up, but a very small amount. My sleeve still feels horrible & so do I. Never again!
  13. This is something to take up with your NUT, because every office handles this differently. I am not allowed peanut butter but my NUT is totally on board with PB2. Like others have mentioned it is powdered peanut butter. It has 85% less calories & fat than regular peanut butter. You can mix it with a small amount of water to use it like peanut butter. It is great mixed with shakes. My favorite way to use it is in plain, fat-free greek yogurt. I mix 6 oz of the greek yogurt with 1 packet of Truvia & 2 tbsp of PB2. Very delicious!
  14. As far as the heartburn goes, are you on antacid? My surgeon gave me a prescription strength antacid straight out of the hospital. I am still on it 10 weeks post-op. Stalls seem to be a normal part of this process. I majorly freaked out when I hit my first one. I was only 2 weeks out. Weeks 1 & 2 I had BIG losses on the scale. I was doing everything the doctor ordered & I did not lose even 1 lb weeks 3, 4 or 5! I had a true stall of 3 weeks. Week 6 the scale showed my weight going down again & I have had a loss (sometimes small, but still a loss) every week since then. It is going to take our bodies a long time to get used to this completely new way of life. Just stick to your NUT plan & you will be just fine!
  15. I was told by NUT not to count calories, but I seem to be around 700 a day. I am supposed to get 60-70 grams of protein & less than 20 grams of carbs. I have found that to be a bot restrictive. So, I try to keep it under 40 grams of carbs per day. I do not count carbs in vegetables & limit myself to 1 piece of fruit per day. I think the more on your plan you are the faster the weight will come off. I am 10 weeks post-op today & down 55 lbs. I know some people who are more restrictive in their diet have lost more rapidly. I would rather lose a little bit slower & not feel so restricted. Good luck!
  16. I am now 10 weeks post-op. I have struggled with feeling hungry BIG TIME! The more solid food you eat the less you will feel hungry. I have found a couple things that help with the hunger pains. You should definitely be on an antacid. Get in a minimum of 64 oz of water a day. The more water you drink the less you will be hungry. It's hard to get hungry if you're constantly filling your sleeve up with water. Once you get to soft & solid foods veggies are your best friend. I get in my protein first (just like the NUT ordered). I am almost always still hungry after my protein. Sometimes it only takes a few bites of veggies to then get that full feeling. As far as vitamins, I too have a box full of very expensive bariatric vitamins. The problem was that they were so gross I wouldn't take them. I switched over to gummy vitamins (both multi & a calcium chewable). I figure that it is better than no vitamins. Just keep pressing on. You'll be okay & will feel better the more weight that comes off. The beginning is really tough! Keep working your program & keep posting.
  17. Congratulations! I know the sleeve has made a real difference for me. I am 10 weeks out & down 55 lbs. I know some people have lost much more in the same time period, but I am happy with my progress.
  18. It seems like every NUT is different. I was cleared for any & all foods 6 weeks out. They just said to limit it to 1 piece of fruit a day because of the carbs.
  19. I remember that feeling all too well. I was sleeved on November 27th. I couldn't sleep for almost 2 weeks before surgery & not at all the night before. The day of the surgery you will certainly wake up in pain. I remember thinking that I had made a horrible decision for a few weeks after surgery, but that passed too. I am now 9 weeks post-op & that whole beginning hardship feels like a lifetime ago. Now it's just about working the plan. At this point I can eat any food so, it's about portion control & making healthy food choices. It will be the same for you I'm sure. Complications are SO rare. You will be just fine. Before you know it you will be a couple months post-op, losing weight & giving support to people who are just where you are right now!
  20. Yes, I was able to stay on my medications. I have a prescription for Xanax as needed and an antidepressant. I take mine at night so I was able to take it the night before surgery. They didn't have my antidepressant at the hospital, but I was only there overnight. I was able to start taking all my meds as usual the day after surgery. (Which is when I got home)
