Hey Everyone, I am also going with Dr. Fernando Garcia, aiming for a Feb 2013 date as well. I have been speaking with him an his staff for over a week now and am pretty confident in my decision. BUT, I have to most likely go alone. Which I REALLY REALLY REALLY don't want to do that. SOOOO, I was hoping there would be someone(persons) that wouldn't mind "buddying" up through this process. I live in the Washington DC/ surrounding areas. So it would be lovely if someone from this area is considering him during the same time. But anywhere is okay I just don't wanna do this alone. If that's cool with anyone we can go through it ll together. If interested let me know what dates because I haven't scheduled yet. Maybe we can exchange contact info.

Do I need a passport book or just a passport card? My coordinator mentioned something about just having my ID and birth certificate. How did you all get there? Because I have to pay for both me and my mom and that would end up being expensive.

Hey ladies, for those who has already been sleeved. I work in hospitality, standing for 8 hours. With periodic luggage carrying. How long would you think it'll take for me to go back to work.

Hey ladies, I'm 5' 241lbs have not yet been sleeved. Still considering/ researching and saving money most likely I'm going to MX because my insurance doesn't cover. Hopefully it won't take to long for me to get things together. Because I'm ready for this change. And right now just need support and advice because only one person I know is really on my side and that because she gets sleeved in jan.

Hey folks I'm consider Dr. Garcia for my procedure. But I've kinda been road blocked. I've been getting mixed reviews in A Lighter Me mostly bad. But good reviews on Ready4AChange. What is it that the coordinators do different that results in such different price ranges? Ready for a change looks to be higher but a few thousand dollars. Unless I had the wrong website. That discourages me because a lighter me is in my price range but ppl have said some bad things about the service

I told my mom yesterday that getting surgery is in my mind. Honestly I didn't know what type if reaction I would get from my mom. Because we are pretty close and talk all the time, she always complains if my weight and some times it gets me mad. But when I ask her stuff she never really gives advice. She pretty much let me make my own choice and help or not help. But she is no shy bird so she will tell u how she feels. When I told her she just got quiet. For some reason I just got real emotional while trying to explain to her how tired and frustrated I was with my weight and my body. She has witnessed me lose 70 lbs in 2010-2011 using HCG. From 251lbs in a 5 foot frame to 181. Now a year and a half later I weight 241lb. So she feels u can just do it again. But I've tried at least 10 times in the last year and a half. I lose some weight but the hunger controls everything. And I just can't stop eating. After about and hr of back and forward conversation she finally excepted and said she'll go with me in case she has to smack the doctors. Lol

Hey all, I'm new to this site. I've been over weight since I was 15 I'm 24 now. I've tried multiple times to lose weight. Some of those times were a bit successful. But I only gained it back the moment I attempted to return to normal eating. Now I will say that my eating habits aren't the best at all, and no matter how much I try I just can't fight the hunger. In 2010 I lost 70 lbs on HCG. Was able to keep it off for about 6 months but as always the hunger comes and I gain the weight back. I'm about 10 pounds away from gaining back all the weight I lost. A friend if mine is in the process of preparing for her surgery mid-jan. So I've been researching the VSG procedure. In order to give good support I felt I needed to know what was going on. In the mix of all that I've come to the conclusion that this might be something that I wanted for my self. I was told to research Dr.Alvarez in Mexico. I've heard good things about him. But was wondering if someone had specific website info. So that I can look up his pricing and etc... Congrats to all those who have lost successfully. And good luck to all those with up coming surgery dates.
