  1. Thanks Shaye... could care less about the drive at this point I just dont want to loose my date or anything like that...I just want the surgery!
  2. So Ive been through a lot to get approval from my insurance company to get surgery....I was only told about a week ago that I needed to be able to pay 3300.00 for my deductible before surgery...this was news to me. SO I called my doctors office and they told me to apply for carecredit...which I did and got what I needed. So I went monday paid out $500 out og my pocket for the pre-op diet and vitamins after surgery. No one said a thing to me, then I call the facility where Im having surgery at that I needed to know what they needed as far as the carecredit information only to find out that they dont take it. Thus I can not have my surgery there.....I call the dr.s office and was told that they didnt know this and were trying to find another facility that will take it. I am so fearful that they will not be able to and that Ive spent thousands already out of pocket for a surgery Im not going to be able to have......just wish I could catch a break with this.
  3. Well I've decided that I am going to continue to get all the liquids and protein liquids in but I need to have something substantial...I'm going to have at least 4 oz of some sort of lean meat this week then go off that before my all clear liquids the day before surgery
  4. I am on day 3 of the liquid pre-op diet and I have to say it sucks! I have no energy and feel like I need to brush my teeth all the time! I was told the diet was to shrink the liver to make surgery easier.... But am not understanding why others don't need to.
  5. Yeah I have to do one day of clear fluids the day before but I wasn't told I could have fruit or even skim milk. I have soups and drinks that mix only with water which all taste mediocre so far!
  6. I have Dr. Justin Braverman at The New Program in Orange Co. I love him, great bedside manner and the staff there is incredible. They have made this process so easy for me! Good luck! Oh and my surgery will be at Tri-City medical center in Hawaiian Gardens in Orange County. They have courtesy transportation and everything
  7. Thanks...I have yummy protein meal replacement shakes...ill just have to do that even though its not on the actual diet plan!
  8. Ok my fellow pre-opers....I ate the oatmeal that was given to me to pretty much eat every morning for breakfast for the next 2 weeks by my dr and I have to say it tasted like eating flour and water...it was clumpy and nasty...I could not eat more than two bites but im starving.....what is everyone else eating for breakfast?
  9. I am also picky...I havent had surgery yet but while I hate cottage cheese and well anykind of cheese cause Im lactose intolerant...I can eat eggs with "no salt" on them and i can eat tuna and salmon out of a can if I have too...The key for me is to chew and not think about having it touch my tongue then swallowing it...this liquid diet sucks but I just mentally visualize what I want to look like a year from now and it makes it a bit more bearable!
  10. My surgery date is the 21st of this month and cant wait! Good Luck everyone!
  11. My surgery was rescheduled for the 21st so I begin my pre-op diet next monday and even though I am nervous I am more excited! I even went shopping in boxes of mine that I had in storage over the holidays that hold a bunch of clothes from my smaller days (which were a long time ago)! Im lucky that I dont have children or a job that requires a lot of lifting so my dr told me that I should be fine within a week after surgery.
  12. I have a surgery date of December 10th but I wont know until the end of this month if Im approved for surgery. I'm praying that all goes well and that my insurance will approve it!
