  1. Hi, I just had my lapband fitted in June. I have not yet had a fill, I am having on this friday. At work, I seem to have a problem to being able to eat my lunch in the half hour I'm allocated. Most of the time it's because I'm not hungry yet, and also I find it hard to eating anything fast, or it gets stuck and makes me feel uncomfortable. I have started to nibble my lunch spread over the day at my desk, and most of the time I get away with it. My supervisor is sympathetic with me, but he said that he will need a doctors note to allow me to do this. Has anyone else had a problem like this, and would I get a note from my GP or from the surgeon in belgium? I'm confused  Thanks in advance!!
  2. Thanks so much for your help!
  3. Hi, I'm being banded by Dr Dillemans on the 6th June
  4. Hellooo, I'm from Portsmouth!
  5. Hello All. My name is Marie, and I'm from South UK. I was wondering, does one have to get fills with the company that provides the banding- or is filling pretty simple and any filling doctor can fill any band. I ask this because I'd prefer to use a filling doctor closer to where I live, if it is possible, as the nearest one recommended to me is in London (about an 1 to 2 hours away) and as it's in London, it's going to cost £90 per fill. I have seen that in other parts of UK its for £75, but all other filling docs recommended to me are 3+ hours away. If it is possible to be filled by someone outside of the company (I'm going with Surgery Abroad international), then does anyone know of a filling doctor I can get in contact with in South UK, for example Southampton or Portsmouth or West Sussex. Thanks a bunch!
  6. Hey Jeni, I'm 22, and I get banded soon. It's great to know what you have lost so far, well done, and much luck on the rest! x
  7. Thanks for the advise everyone. I reckon, with mine being a desk job, I should be fine after all- considering all the advise.
  8. Hi Tami, Thanks for the advise. It is alao reassuring to see that you have lost 9 lb's already, in a matter of days! Well done!
  9. My Dr recommended 2 weeks also But with my work, it's so hard to get time off, because it's in a call centre, and everyone is fighting of the June/July time off. I only managed to get the week of the surgery off.
  10. Hey Karla, Thanks for the reply My job is at a call centre, so I'm pretty much sitting down all day, and the day that I return is a Sunday (god knows why they could not let me have a sunday off?!) so I will being doing pretty much nothing on the Sunday Thanks so much for your advise!
  11. I'm scheduled for 6th June. Good luck everyone
  12. Hi, My name is Marie, I'm new here I have my banding scheduled on 6th June. I managed to get all the time I'm in belgium off of work, but I couldn't get the day after I come back to England off, which is the 10th June... 4 days after surgery. How soon did everyone else go back to work? Will I be hurting after 4 days? Thanks P.S I really enjoy reading everyones experiences on here!
  13. Hey, I'm glad I have found this place, I am new, and I was researching on stories and successes of Lao Band surgery. I have my Surgery booked for the first week of June, with Dr Dillemans in Belgium. I'm real excited, and nervous at the same time. From what I have read on here, Dr Dillemans is a great time, and the experience in Belgium is a good one. Not really entirley sure why I am posting this, but I just wanted to share my joy Is there anyone else on here with surgery booked at a similar time? x
