  1. I was banded in April, and had a fill in June and one today. While on vacation a few weeks agao I woke up in the middle of the night with a tightness in my chest. I went back to sleep only to wake up an hour later in extreme pain. I thought it was a food blockage, but have had the same thing after returning home. The pain was intense both times and can be equated to an elephant standing on my chest. My doctor asked me today if I had used a straw at all to drink liquids, sure enough, I had both those days. He questioned me about throwing up and coughing up bile, and I had neither of those symtoms. The doctor seems to think I am having trouble with gas. I will keep u posted.
  2. Everyone has told me that when i fill full stop eating. Problem is I hardley feel full or even hungry for that matter. Hence that has lead to some overeating. I am glad I found this forum, because I was afraid about pouch slipping. Instincts told me to try liquids for a few days and after reading, seems like most of you would agree. I see the doctor next week. Thanks!
  3. I hit my plateau 3 weeks ago and still holding. I have been on vacation for the past three weeks and ate almost anything I liked. Even had some alcohol. As soon as I started to gain a few pounds I felt miserable! Am home now and need to behave. Actually going back on protein shakes for a few days. I had my surgery April 5, 2007 and have lost 41 lbs. so far. I have a had time feeling hungry or full. My doctor seems concerned about this.
  4. I recently found out the difference. WHile on vacation I ate too well and had a piece of food get stuck. The pain lasted almost two hours and was so intense I thought I was dying. I even took a trip to the ER to rule out a heart attack. It felt like an elephant was standing on my chest. That was enough to rethink what and how much I can eat. I mixed a little meat tenderizer and warm water and it took about 30 min to clear. My surgeon and nutritionist told me to carry some, the doctor at the ER had a fit, but it worked.
