  2. Hey Helga, I to am wanting to get the lap band surgery. I am 32 the mother of 3 and my BMI is 45 and my weight is 247. I also have many ????? about is this right for me. But I have a lot of people who say that it is not the right thing to do but I have said to myself that in 2008 I am going to lose the weight meaning I am going to try to live the best life I can I am going to start the process so I can get banded. I want to live healthly. I need to get control of my life I need this tool to help me get control and to stay in control. So I am saying this to say you have to know what's best for you and your body. Good Blessings on whatever you decide to do. Fatima
