Has anyone had or heard anything about laser liposuction? I have seen a few billboards & such around town & was wondering about it?

I finally cleaned out my closet Monday and got rid of 3 huge bags of clothes that are all way to big, It was really exciting!!! We took some pics of clothes that used to fit me, the skirt was actually tight on me. I just wanted to share these with you'll.

Hey everyone! I haven't posted on here in a while so I just wanted to say Hi and see how everyone was doing? I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years! Hey Janet, I hope you are feeling much better!!! For those of you that don't know me, my name is Season, I was banded June 11, 2007, by Dr. Schmitt. My starting weight on the Friday before my surgery was 312 lbs and I am down to 216 lbs this morning. 4 more pounds to go until I hit my 100 pound mark!!!!!! I want to get down to around 180 lbs and see how I feel when I get there as to if I want to keep going (I am 6'1" tall, so I figured around 180lbs will be about right for me)

Hey Everyone! I haven't been on here lately so I just wanted to say Hello and see how everyone was doing? I went last Monday for my 2nd fill and Lisa scared me, she couldn't find my port after about 10 minutes of messing with it, she said that she thought it had flipped. She finally went and got Dr. Schmitt and he found it pretty quick. Needless to say I was relieved that it hadn't done any flip flops! My weight has been stuck for the past week or so, I am down to 268, from 312. I am so ready for the scale to start moving downward again! Well I hope everyone is having a great Humpday!

Good Afternoon Everyone! I haven't been on this thread in a while so I wanted to say Hello to everyone, I hope everyone is doing great! So far I have gone from 312lbs to 279lbs, so I have lost 33lbs in 5 1/2 weeks!!! YEAH!!! My first fill is scheduled for Monday, July 23, at 2:00 PM. I am ready to see how this works! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

How many calories are you doing a day? What are you eating?

I am going to be right there with you'll! My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning and I am thinking I will start today or tomorrow! The more I thought about it I thought it would probably be better because I will have the pain meds!!!

Hey Janie! Dr. Schmitt is doing my surgery! The first appt they really don't do much, mostly just tell you all of the "hoops" you will have to jump through, if you have to go to the psych, cardio, sleep Dr., blood work, etc. You can go ahead and request your medical records from all of your other Dr's so you can give them to Neoami, who handles all of the insurance & surgery appts for both Dr Schmitt and Miles. She is really nice. If you haven't gone to a lap band support group meeting they are GREAT!!! The next one is Saturday June 16 at 10:30 AM, in the Medical Center East conference room. ***You have to go to at least one support group meeting and get a certificate from the meeting before they will schedule your surgery*** Veronica, Jill and Tim are the main folks that host the meetings. Veronica is one of the nurses and also teaches part of the nutrition class you will have to go to. http://banders4life.com Check out their web page if you have a few minutes! Dr. Schmitt does not require the two week pre-op diet like alot of people on here talk about. From midnight tonight *Sunday Morning* until midnight tomorrow night I can only have clear liquids and have to do the oh so much fun fleet soda bowel clensing thing tomorrow afternoon/evening. After midnight tomorrow night I can't have anything at all to eat or drink. I have to be at MCE at 6:15 Monday morning for my labs because they didn't get done Friday at my pre-op appt. I am his 2nd surgery on Monday morning *I am not sure what time it will be* If you have any questions feel free to ask! Good news is that they now pay for it - they just approved it in my policy in APRIL! Woo hoo !! I have an appointment with Dr. Schmidt on July 11 - but I call each week to see if there are any cancellations. This won't rush my surgery due to Blue Cross's rules, but I can't wait to learn all I can about it.

Hey Everyone!I had my nutrition class this morning and my pre-op appt this afternoon. I am supposed to be at the hosptial at 6:15 AM on Monday morning I am the 2nd surgery of the day! They didn't do my blood work today so they said they would do it Monday morning when I got there. The nutrition class was very helpful, she told us that she recommends us not eating anything over 15 carbs per meal (when we get to the regular "food" stage). went to WallyWorld and got my *YUMMY* Fleet Lemon something Soda for Sunday, gee that should be a fun evening I am not looking forward to experiencing. I have to take 3tbl spoons at 1PM and then again at 6PM, clear liquids only and nothing to drink after midnight.I went to GNC this afternoon and found some new Whey protein mix, you mix it with water or juice, it is Pineapple, Orange, Bananna flavor, It smells pretty good and has 50 grams of protein for 1 scoop, with no sugar, fat or carbs and only 120 calories. I figured it would be really good mixed with Sunrise Crystal Light orange. We are supposed to be getting 60 grams of protein a day, so that one scoop gets us a huge chunk of our protein for the day!!!I hope everyone had a great Friday!

Hey Everyone! I have my nutrition class on Friday, June 8, at 8:00 AM, and my pre-op appt sometime on Friday too, I haven't found out exactly what time my appt is yet! My surgery is scheduled for Monday, June 11 with Dr. Schmitt! I am supposed to shoot wedding pics on June 23 so I am hoping I will be able to do it, I usually end up squatting up and down ALOT shooting wedding pics. If I am not up to it I guess hubby will have to do it for me. Tami, Congrats on your anniversary coming up!!! How long have you been married? With your surgery did you have the gas and shoulder pain that everyone talks about on here? Did your skin shrink with you? I have been curious about how many folks have to have a tummy tuck/surgry to remove excess skin. I am hoping I don't have to do that! What all do they do on the pre-op appts?

Thanks for all the replies everyone! I called my Dr's office this morning and they had not received the approval letter from BCBS so I faxed it to them. I made my nutritionist appt for June 8 *next Friday*. My surgery date is going to be June 12 or 19, not sure which one yet. I am hoping it will be the 12 because I am supposed to shoot wedding pics on June 23. I guess if it is the 19th I will have to get my hubby to shoot the wedding pics, ohhh boy is he going to love that!!! :love:

Hey Everyone! I got my letter from BCBS yesterday saying I had been approved, I am just curious how long it normally takes to get a surgery date after insurance approval? The only pre-op thing I have left to do is meet with the nutrisionist and they told me not to do that until I was approved so I am wondering how long I should expect to wait for a date.

Think about it like your job, you just took a "vacation" and now it is time to go back to work! Everyone hates going back to work after their vacations but you still have to do it! Just remember how much better you feel with your weight off! I have faith that you will get back in the swing of things!!!

:notagree UUUGGGGGGG I am sitting at work, I have to work midnight to 8AM in the morning which is absolutely no fun at all, the only perk to it is that I will be off work Friday so I get a really long Memorial Day weekend !!!!! The meeting went great this morning! Today was my first one and I got my hubby :love: to come with me. I think he really enjoied it also. Tami told everyone her story and she did such an amazing job and is so inspiring. :humble:

I understand about weight killing your spirit, believe me I've been right there with you for a really long time. I finally got to the mind set that I am who I am take it or leave it. If your friends are anything like mine they are all skinny and don't have a clue what it is like to even be 5lbs over weight, much less 100lbs. (One of my best friends made the top 5 in the Miss Alabama Beauty Pagent) What does your hubby think about pay for the band? You would probably come out alot better $ wise if you went to Medi trim or somewhere like that, which is overseen by a Dr., so that would count towards your 7 months for BCBS. Were you going to have to see any other Dr's *Cardio, Psych, etc.* Does your regular physician have a problem with surgery?

Hey K-Kat, I am BCBS Federal, not BCBS of AL. Federal doesn't make you jump through as many hoops as AL does. My papers were submitted last week so I figure it will be a few weeks before I hear anything from them but Neaomi at Dr. Schmitt's office told me that they usually approve it pretty easily. I actually had already done the 6-months of Dr. supervised weight loss (more like 3 years) so even if they made me do that I had already done it before I went to Dr. Schmitt. I have had a weight problem as long as I can remember, my mother had me in a child nutrition class when I was like 8 years old. I had just gotten used to the fact that I was going to be big all of my life but when I had my son my body just completely changed and I am heavier than I was when I was 9 months pregnant and no matter what I do I just can't get the weight off. That is what made me decide to try lapband. Hopefully I will get approved. Are you going to the group tomorrow at Medical Center East? It is at 10:30 AM and anyone is welcome.

No offense Cajun, but you BF sounds like a total and complete jerk face and you deserve so much better than that. Now take this from a complete DISNEY FREAK, there is absolutely nothing at Disney World that has a weight/size restriction and you can rent a scooter if you can't do alot of walking around the parks. You need to get rid of the BF and take a friend with you to Disney World and have a great time!!! If you have any questions about anything at Disney World just send me a message and I can tell you anything you would like to know!

Hey Everyone! I was just curious if anyone has had a problem getting a clearance letter from their primary care dr? My PCD is not a fan of the lap-band surgery because he thinks that everyone should be able to loose weight on their own, which if that actually worked all of us woudn't be here in the first place!
