  1. I sort of know how you feel... a little over 2 weeks post-op I got the worst upper chest infection and cough... nothing to do with surgery... but thank goodness it was after the stitches and incisions started to heal - I can't imagine having to cough that much and that hard just after surgery!

11cc Bronto-band: Does it EVER Fill Up?

I have the VG as well - my doc prefers them in the long term for less slippage due to the ribs and more control in the future with fills and unfills for health reasons. He is also generous with the fills to get where you need to be. I was banded 3/27, first 3cc fill May 6 - not much restriction, thought I was failing this whole thing, second fill June 6 (just last week) and we might have just hit it! I am completely feeling what I expected to. I am full after eating the portions we are supposed to eat. I stay full for some time, satisfied til past time for another meal. Very satisfied right now! If you are already on the pill, call your OB/GYN. For PCOS / endometriosis, etc, I take the pill non-stop for 3ish months at a time and choose when I will have a period by when I stop taking the pill. Works for me! My GYN said she was perfectly okay with me taking them as long as six months if I was worried about the surgery and having a period - she was far more interested in my losing weight. Although I have had periods since surgery (including several days after - I agree the anesthesia and body shock can bring it on) they have all been better than average.
  4. I was wondering... I am 7 weeks post op. Doing great for the most part. The last 10 days or so I have been feeling odd in the evening. About 6pm or so I become a terror to be around - okay, not that bad, but like I am PMSing every evening. I am short, snappy, irratated at the littlest things. Anyone go through this? Will it pass? Not enough Protein? Alter time of eating? supplementing? Do I need more exercise? fluids? prozac before a divorce? My husband is GREAT. He is so incredibly supportive, but I HATE that I am being so short with him... why can't it be at work and I be fine at home? Just curious if anyone else thinks they are going crazy? Thanks, Kate Atlanta - Dr. Lin 301/282/175
  5. Funny, I just read "Mood Swings?" by lizrbit on another part of the site - that's exactly what I'm going through!
  6. Congratulations. I will think of you on Thursday. I live in East Atlanta - I was banded at Emory on March 27. Hope all goes well with you - let us know if you need anything. Kate
  7. I too have PCOS and am newly banded (Mar 27). I was diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis years ago... I have tried everything short of a full hysterectomy. My GYN was thrilled when I told her I was being evaluated for surgery... we're both looking forward to the changes weight loss will bring. Katie 301 / 284 / 165
