  1. Yay! Welcome to this side of the sleeving experience. Glad you're doing well.
  2. Glad the pain meds are working. I can't imagine going through that much work without them.
  3. I remember feeling nervous and scared too. I was excited to have it done, but scared at the same time. I think that's kind of normal. My prayers are with you. As a matter of fact, here it is. Heavenly Father, I ask you to watch over emartini as she has her procedure today. I pray that you will give the surgeons the knowledge and skill that they need to make this operation a total success. I also ask that you give her a speedy and full recovery. Amen.
  4. Good luck! Hope you're ready to improve your life.
  5. The diet is going well. I was supposed to start pureed today but I started a few days ago because the liquids just weren't cutting it. I had no discomfort though otherwise I would have stuck with liquids. I've noticed that I have to conciously think about drinking often or I start falling behind.
  6. Yep, I'm always cold since the surgery too. My hand most of all. I've been trying to think up a way to keep my hands warmer when I'm working. Too bad I don't have some kind of heater that goes over my mouse and keyboard.
  7. I'm feeling pretty good now. I am back to work today. My operation ended up taking 4 hours due to extra scarring from the lapband that they had to remove. So, lapband and gallbladder are out and vertical sleeve gastrectomy has been accomplished. How are you doing after your surgery?
  8. LOL! That is exactly what I am wearing now! I am one week post-op and cold a lot.
  9. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.
  10. Although it sounds more filling you have to make sure you're drinking Protein Drinks. I think making your own broth is fine but you should leave out the flour. Flour is high in carbohydrates and that is something you need to cut out of your diet to shrink your liver. 1 cup of flour = 95g of carbs.
  11. I think being excited and nervous at the same time is pretty common. I know I am excited and nervous as well. My surgery is still 9 days away. I can't wait until it's over and I'm recovering. As a matter of fact two weeks from today will be my first follow up appointment.
  12. Yeah, seriously, I've been through three surgeries for lapband (number 4 is in 10 days and then it will be out and I'll be sleeved) and I don't remember anything other than being nervous walking into the operating room and then feeling really good and happy as soon as they started giving me the first medication. You are absolutely not going to have a problem with the tube. I would be amazed if you can remember it in any way whatsoever when you're done.
  13. That doesn't sound like a bad thing. It sounds like you're doing things right and your recovery is extremely good.
  14. Both times I had lapband surgery the anesthesiologist told me something similar. That I would be awake enough to follow instructions but I should not feel any discomfort or likely remember it. He was right. I don't remember it at all and definitely don't remember any pain from that but he said I did very well and it went just as he had said. I don't know about anybody else but I know that during my surgeries they gave me something as soon as I laid down on the operating table and within a minute I was totally out of it. So, what they give you to calm down really will calm you down. I was really nervous so the fact that within moments I was feeling all warm and fuzzy and then the next thing I knew I was in the recovering area should tell you how good they work. So, you should really not have to worry about the breathing tube.
  15. I'm on my pre-op liquid diet and really want to cheat but haven't yet. I can completely understand how that could happen to you. If I decided to eat something I think I would probably lose control and eat way too much and eat bad foods. Good luck getting back on track.
  16. You're a day ahead of me. So, I guess you don't have to be nervous as long as I do. LOL!
  17. 10 lbs in 7 days is nice but not really healthy, unfortunately. And not a comfortable way to do it either. The sleeve was made available less than a year after I had my second band installed. But I didn't know it at the time or I might have waited. Oh well, no turning back time. I'm just going to go forward with the sleeve and hope for the best!
  18. Thank you. I had lots of problems with my band too. First band I had eroded. The second was working great and then the port flipped and the tube starting pushing out on my skin. I had a port revision to fix that and then shortly after that it slipped. So, now I'm going with the sleeve. I wish the sleeve would have been available when my first band failed.
  19. Thank you! And I wish you luck with yours as well. Hopefully it will be as pain free and effective as possible!
  20. That was my thought and why I didn't even try to argue with him. If he says it will make a night and day difference in the difficulty of the procedure then I'm going to do what I can to make it easy.
  21. Well, it will be here before we know it.
