That's great! I see both of us will be here for a long time. I'm sure we'll do it!- Took a deep breath - called TLBC - booked!!!
You need to cut and past the link under bbCode.- Took a deep breath - called TLBC - booked!!!
It didn't work. Did you take the very first link from tickerfactory? There are several displayed.- Took a deep breath - called TLBC - booked!!!
What kind of things? Please share...I know that Dr. Mumford's clinic has a more personal approach - the surgeon met with me personally. I chose TLBC because it's closer to where I live. Kathy was also very nice and the nurses I spoke to where also quite helpful and supportive. I also like the type of support they offer. I'm sure everything will be fine. For the tickerfactory click on UserCP at the top of the page and then click on Edit Signature and paste your link from ticker factory there.- Took a deep breath - called TLBC - booked!!!
Yes I am. What makes you nervous?- Took a deep breath - called TLBC - booked!!!
Of course I am. But my cravings take over my body and I can't help feeding those cravings. I'm like a woman possessed. just pray to God everything will be all right. When I mentioned this to the co-ordinators they told me to do my best. I even asked if I should be moving my surgery but they didn't seem to concerned - which worries me a bit. I guess they've done enough of these to know what they're doing.- Took a deep breath - called TLBC - booked!!!
Hi Miranda: No, I've not found it easier as time went on. I had 4 major downfalls but I've still lost weight. The cravings have not subsided and I find I have to keep really busy and away from the kitchen!!. Surfing this website helps.- what to wear???
I'm planning on wearing a loose-fitting dress. I think that would be OK.- Took a deep breath - called TLBC - booked!!!
Hello Miranda/Ginger: Initially, I did exactly the same thing - went in and booked the surgery. My own doctor then wanted to give me some extra tests prior to the surgery so I had to move it to June 01/07. Four days to go...the anxiety attacks are starting and I'm soooooo hungry!! :hungry: Hanging in there with a few downfalls along the way. :omg: Good luck!- what to wear???
All the best LeslieLee - I'll be joining you on the banded side of the world on June 01/07.- what to wear???
Oops Posted In Error- I don't want to diet before banding or pre-op diet. Is this normal?
I've tried - really tried to follow this blasted pre-op 2 week diet. I've had 3 major downfalls and one minor so that's 4 days out of the pre-op diet where I've failed. It's so darn hard for a food addict like myself to follow the cottage cheese/jell-o/yogurt crap. I do believe there are many benefits to having a less fatty liver - from a surgeon's point of view it's probably easier for him/her to move around in there and the recovery period can also be made easier if the liver is not bruised or touched too much. I'm no nurse or doctor but I do hope there are other people like me who've had downfalls and have been able to have the surgery. I've lost 10 lbs so far and this is day 7.- Banding June 01/2007?
Anyone having surgery on June 01/2007 at the TLC?- Emergency trip to Toronto
Wow!! I'm scheduled for surgery on June 01/07 at TLC and you're scaring the living daylights out of me!- Pre-op
Thank you Leslie Lee and Becca77. Although hungry, I am doing so much better today. Reading Yoda's journal last night really hit home! Thanks again to all.- Pre-op
Where can I find Mr Yoda's post on his epic battle?- Pre-op
Thanks for the encouragement. I totally failed today but I'll try to be really good from now onwards. I hope I won't have to postpone my surgery and you're right it is extremely hard and this is day 1 for me! Dr. Yau is doing my surgery and I have the pre-op seminar on Tuesday. I'll be honest with them and tell them about my failure today and who knows they may even say that I need to move the surgery by a few days. That would really be a bummer but I brought it on myself. Best of luck to you.- Pre-op
Has everyone been totally faithful to the 2 wk pre-op diet! This is day 1 and I've already blown it! :faint: I don't want to postpone my surgery currently scheduled for June 01. Any tips?:help:- Doctor's OK?
Good day to all: I am seriously considering the lapband since I have a lot of weight to lose. I visited both clinics (TLBC and Dr. Colbourn) and I need to make my decision on a clinic soon. For those of you who have been banded - did you find that your own MD tried to discourage you from being banded or where they quite supportive? My nurse at work advised me not to do it since the long-term success rate is not that great vs by-pass/stapling surgeries. Just curious.- Dr. Yau or Dr. Cobourn/Mumford?
Hello to all: I am going to be banded in the very near future and I have read with interest everyone's opinions regarding the clinics. I did a lot of my research online and weighed the pros and cons between the 3 clinics. I dismissed the TCC (Toronto Cosmetic Centre) right away as their website is poorly designed and is not at all informative. I had my initial consultation with TLBC on Monday, April 30 and one with Dr. Mumford at TWLOS today. I found the initial consultation was better handled at the TWLOS clinic because you do not have an in-between speaking to you. Dr. Mumford was very informative and was able to answer all my questions. Unlike the TLBC where the patient coordinator could not really answer some of the questions about the surgery. Don't get me wrong the coordinator at TLBC was very pleasant but I felt I was listening to a 'sales pitch' more than the ins and outs on the procedure I was considering. I liked the fact TLBC had a choice of bands available because we are not all the same, however, Dr. Mumford pointed out that the other bands do not have an even 'round' fill like the Inamed band and therefore the stomach could be unevenly tightened. I have my surgery tentatively booked with TLBC and I have to confirm next week. The two reasons I'm considering TLBC over TWLOS are the location of the clinic and the fact Dr. Yau has more experience in this field. I do hope that I get to consult with Dr. Yau before the surgery. Will keep everyone posted. - 4 hours
