Today is my one week surgerversary and I weighed yesterday (Fridays are my weigh days) and I was down 11.2 lbs since the morning of my surgery! And I lost a little over 5 lbs on the pre-op diet, so 16 lb all together! I'm pretty damn excited. I know it won't always be like that, but I'm happy for the jump start! I'm feeling really good and was actually already given the ok to eat purée. Thank you guys for your support :-)

Ouch really? I'm sorry to hear that! I hope it heals soon!

The incisions all look good! The only one that even hurts is where the drain was, and that was just taken out yesterday morning. :-)

I'm pretty good. The worst part is the gas pains

Yaz- make sure your mom brigs something to do, Because shel have a lot of down time while you guys aren't together. Lvnmom- pre-op they take blood, and do an EKG and have u fill out a questionnaire about your health and history. They hook u up to iv fluids and you just wait your turn. I was lucky cuz I went second. Some had to wait a lot longer.

How exciting! And your welcome! I did bring the gas x strips, and I've only used them twice. They'd rather u get the gas out then use the strips tho. With all the gas u have, I'm not sure if they help or not. The gas pains haven't completely gone away yet, so it's hard to tell. I'm Sure they help though. As for recommendations, are u bringing a support person?

Oh good, I'm excited to go there! I have Ice chips now and it kinda hurts when u swallow after it melts in your mouth. Not as joyful a moment as i had anticipated when I got to have ice. Lol!

Hey all!!!! So sorry it toll so long to update! The gas pains were awful yesterday and last night. Way better this morning! Just got dressed and waiting to go over to the hotel :-) ill post a pic of pic of my incisions and drain. And I loved it here! Clean and the staff is so helpful and always nice and never annoyed seeming. I called my poor nurse what seemed like a million times lat might and he was nice every time!

Thank you thank you Cheryl!!! I am going to get sleeved there this coming sat, the 1st and am Sooo nervous! That helps me feel a lot better! My question for you, is what did u eat while you were there? I'm taking my sister with me and want to know what she should expect to be doing and eating while she's there with me :-)

I've been researching for almost a year. I have 3 different friends that have gone to Dr. Almanza and have had great results. I've read all the good and all the bad about him. When it comes down to it, you can get an infection from ANY surgery regardless of where you have it. My personal friends said everything was super clean and professional and they felt like they were in a big hospital. It doesn't really matter if it's a big hospital or a small clinic, the procedure is the same. Thanks for the advice, but I've definitely done the research :-) Wish me luck!
