    Prilosec Qustion

How is everyone taking their Prilosec? The Prilosec I have is time release (is there a non time release?) and I was told to crush the tablet, however I'm also aware that you not supost to crush time release tablets. So I just wondering to crush or not crush??? What is everyone doing.

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

I'm in the same boat! its just me and my wonderful husband woring this out, my family lives out of town. I'm 42 today, we have an 8 yr & 2 yr. my issue is getting the 8yr to school which is in another town so not being able to drive is a big deal, my husband usually works early, but is going to go in late until I can drive. I have also arranged to have full time child care for my little one for 2 weeks. I'm hoping I'm back up to speed in two weeks or at least enought to care for the kids and drive to school. I was encouraged to hear at our support group that two people that were just sleeved are diving 4 & 10 days after surgery, they looked and said they felt great! The first two months are going to be the toughest.
  6. Just wondering how much time people spent in surgery?

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Hello! I was just scheduled for surgery October 9th, Dr Zare, San Jose Ca. Can hardy wait to be fit & thin!
  12. This very cool! Thanks!!
  13. Thank ALL so much for your comments. You have really helped me put my mind at ease. Apparently my ins/Dr only requires 1 vist to the Nut. My first call the only appt avialible was Sept 25th! Almost a month out. Called the second person on the list who doesn't work with my ins co and they got me on this Wednesday! $95 out of pocket but I willing to pay the money not to have to wait a month. I worked with a nut (doesnt support WLS) before and my eating habits have improved dramatically over the last 10 years, I've no problem maintaining and just can't seem to lose so here I am with sleave. Thanks agian to everyone.
  14. Hello everyone, I'm new and working my way through this process, I found reading the forum very very helpful however I had some questions about the nut reviewand havent seen too many comments about it. I have Anthum Blue Cross. 1) what happens in these meetings, do they try to help you eat heathy so you don't need surgery? 2) what kind of approval is needed for the insurance company? 3.) have they ever stopped someone from getting surgery? 4.) how many meetings did you have before they signed off on the surgery? 5.) what should I expext from the meeting? I just took the Pys review and have the sign off from my shrink just stressing about the Nut review. Thanks in advance for sharing you experiences.

    Bmi Question

Hello I'm new and had a question about BMI that I was hopping to get help with. I have BCBS of California and was wondering if they required your BMI to be above 40 for a documented length of time? My have no other health conditions and my BMI has only recently been documented over 40 and my concern is they are goring to make we wait for a year or more before I could have surgery. I've been over 35 for 8 years. Thank you

    Bmi Question

Talked to my insurance company and they where not helpful at all in answering my questions. Basically they said it was up to the Doctor to determine "medical necessity". So I guess I will have to wait and see.
