  1. That's normal. Had my surgery on Aug.14th and it's funny I wasn't nervous at all. Everything will be great, you will be ok. Try and stay busy that's what I did. My house has never been so clean. Make sure you keep posted how everything turns out. Good luck and sending you best wishes.
  2. Had surgery on Aug. 14th, had insulin day of surgery and next day. On the 16th I am no longer taking the 2000 mg of metformin or the 10mg of glyburide. I had this surgery to get off of meds and I am so grateful that the surgery has surpassed all my expections. I wish you all the luck.
  3. Good luck and I'm sure everything will be great. I am also having my surgery on the 14th. Finished my 2 week pre-op diet today and I have a full liquid diet Monday. What time is your surgery? When all is done make sure you give a update.Wishing you all the best luck.
  4. Welcome. I'm kind of new here also. This site is a great place and everyone is so helpful. I started on May 2 with getting all my requirements and my surgery is 8-14. Hope the process goes smooth for u.
  5. Welcome. I am also a newbie. That is such good news. You will have to keep us posted when your surgery date is.
  6. Well congrats. That's just around the corner. My surgery is Aug. 14th in San Diego. Good luck on everything. Did you have a pre op diet to do?
  7. Wow, that is such a cool idea. I think I need to make some of these. Thanks for sharing.
  8. I start my pre op diet on the 30th. Fourteen days of 3 shakes and a small meal. Then day before surgery breakfast then full liquids only after 10am and nothing after 11pm. I plan on staying very busy, maybe clean the house like it's never been cleaned before. I am a little nervous since I don't have the best track record for keeping to a diet. We have to be strong so we have a nice small liver. It's great to hear tips from others about their pre op diets and the struggles they dealt with. All aboard the pre op diet ship, lol.
  9. Duh right. After I posted that i figured it out. I will keep in touch since we are going to be sleeve sisters come the 14th.YAY
  10. Insurance stuff can be so nerve racking. Hang in there. Maybe because I have a ppo it's different. The person who you want to talk to is Monique with Dr. Mueller. She is so nice and will help you with anything. I knew she was gone this week. Stay positive and I know sometimes it's hard when it seems like at every corner there is something new to deal with.
  11. I also have Sharp Rees-Steely in Rancho Bernando. I just went in to my doctor and told her about the sleeve, she had never heard of it. She was all for it. I hope all goes good for you and let's stay in touch. I can't wait to be on the losers bench with you and everyone else.
  12. Thanks Vixkey I will do that. I have one stupid question for now. How do I send a message to you? Not very good at all this computer stuff even thou hubby is a software engineer, you would think I would know a little something about computers, LOL.
  13. Wow that's great. I'm happy for u. So there is hope for me yet. I've been a diabetic for 7 years now and I hate it. I know diabetes does not always go into remission for all but I'm really hoping it works out for me.
  14. Thank you Kathy. Your right I am very excited and a little scared. I'm doing this surgery in hopes of having my diabetes go into remission. I'm sure I will have so many questions and it's great that I have the experts here to help me when I need it.
  15. Just wanted to say hello and express how grateful I am that I have found this site. Started the process on May5 and just submitted to insurance last week and I have a surgery date of Aug. 14th. It's awesome knowing there is all this wisdom for me here as I start this journey. Thanks everyone.
  16. Dr. Mueller is such a great doctor. At the seminar he will take the time to answer any and all questions you have no matter how long it takes.I have Anthem BC ppo and I submitted to my insurance last week, just waiting for approval. I have a date of Aug.14th for my surgery. I did not have to do a six month diet. I just had to show that I have tried to lose weight. Good luck.
