Believer reacted to pkehrer in Ive Cheated Every DayI would agree that it's a maturity thing, but not an age thing. I'm 19 and I'm doing just fine. However, the idea of having such a life altering change at a young age may seem a little more drastic so I can see why people my age would be freaking out a little more.

Believer reacted to mufasas-mom in Ive Cheated Every DayI have seen multiple posts regarding ppl not doing pre-op diets correctly and eating WAY too soon after surgery and the common denominator is their AGE. These are children getting sleeved without psych appts and proper knowledge of nutrition. There should be age appropriate classes that are mandatory. Their maturity level to deal with this lifetime change just is not there yet. It saddens me knowing the road they will face without the proper tools for success

Believer reacted to Kitten0331 in When's The Big Day? How Are You Feeling? My big day was the 10th. The day of surgery was great, yesterday I was positively miserable and the slightest amount of liquids sent me into stomach spasms and throwing up. Today seems to have started out better and I should be leaving the hospital sometime this evening.
Hang in there everyone and just think how great we're going to look by this time next year.

Believer reacted to Wildflower in When's The Big Day? How Are You Feeling?HI, My surgery date is July 19th, with melissa I think I look forward to a lot of things and of course, feeling attractive comes to mind and I worry about loose skin and all that, but I am doing this just to live again and participate in life again. I want to be healthy and active with my 10yr old daughter and not feel ashamed of going to her school and volunteering to help out with class things and sporting events. i want to play volley ball with her, take her to yoga classes, zumba, pilates and help her not to end up like I did. We love food, she is only 10 and a total foodie but she is also chubby for her age already and I am doing this for her and that is really the bottom line.

Believer reacted to Ang in Question About Drinking And EatingI do (mostly) follow everything he says; there are tiny things here and there I step out of line with, but I keep up with my weight every day and know that if something isn't working, I need to back off. I just wondered about that, the drinking, because I know there are different doctors who say different things, and one thing I have learned from reading through this forum, and talking to my friend, is that my doc seems very conservative. Which isn't a bad thing but the food gets old.
Though I guess I can't complain; six and a half weeks out and I've lost 50 lbs (well, 20 the two weeks prior and 30 the six weeks after).
